Job description

Job Title: Quality Test Specialist

Department: Quality

Work Location: Transformers AR

Reports To: Quality Supervisor

FLSA Status: Non-Exempt

Key Responsibilities:

  • Perform product testing in accordance with internal standards that include engineering prints, bill of materials, work instructions & IEEE testing standards.
  • Preparatory work related to test setup & completion.
  • Escalate repetitive findings and collaborate with Quality leadership for resolve.
  • Maintain a "clean as you go" work standard.
  • Follow all safety, quality, and company policies while working in the testing areas.
  • Communicate effectively with team members and supervisors regarding inspection findings.
  • Other Testing duties as assigned

Requirements

Qualifications

Education:

  • High school diploma or equivalent required.
  • Technical or vocational coursework related to quality, manufacturing, or inspection is a plus.

Experience:

  • Prior experience in quality control, receiving inspection, or manufacturing inspection preferred.
  • Experience working in a manufacturing or industrial environment is strongly desired.

Skills and Competencies:

  • Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings and specifications.
  • Proficiency using basic measuring tools (calipers, rulers, tape measures, gauges).
  • Strong attention to detail and commitment to accuracy.
  • Ability to complete inspection and rejection reports clearly and accurately.
  • Familiarity with quality systems, procedures, and documentation.
  • Ability to work independently while meeting daily deadlines.
  • Effective communication skills and a team-oriented mindset.
  • Comfortable working in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.

Physical and Environmental Requirements 

  • Lifting: Able to lift 50 pounds unassisted.
  • Environment: Work in a facility with loud noise, extreme temperatures, and environmental stressors.
  • Physical Activities: Sit, stand, walk, bend, climb, crouch, reach, and grasp as needed.
  • PPE: Wear required PPE, including eye and hearing protection, gloves, and safety toe footwear.
  • Dexterity and Vision: Manual dexterity and specific vision abilities (close, distance, color, peripheral, depth perception, and focus adjustment).
  • Stamina: Stand for long shifts.
  • Skills: Effective communication, basic math skills, and teamwork.
  • Safety: Adhere to safety protocols and address hazards.
