Job description

Position: Kids Coordinator

Hours: 5-10 hrs. per week (does include Sundays)

Classification: Non-exempt, hourly

JOB SUMMARY:

The Kids Coordinator, in partnership with the Elementary Kids Director, Preschool Director, and Executive Director, creates and carries forward the vision, strategy and programming for Westside Kids ministry. This role requires Sunday hours as part of the regular job duties in addition to some weekday hours as needed for curriculum and classroom prep.

QUALIFICATIONS AND SKILLS:

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Previous experience working in a preschool or school environment (volunteer or professional capacity)
  • Experience coordinating and organizing events
  • Previous experience building teams of volunteers
  • Demonstratable experience in administrative role (ie: receptionist, admin assistant, office manager, etc.)
  • Previous experience working in childhood education
  • Previous experience running day camps and sessions

Responsibilities and Associated Tasks:

Curriculum, Classroom & Kids Check-in Process

  • Oversee the Sunday Kids Check-in Process and schedule volunteers to help cover this area.
  • Prepare weekly curriculum for Sunday programming
  • Organize crafts, activities, lessons, and classroom media
  • Manage weekly preparations of classrooms as needed
  • Maintain a safe, organized, and engaging learning environment
  • Serve as a backup staff member for Sunday morning programming as needed, including Sunday morning coverage
  • Oversee inventory for snacks and classroom supplies
  • Ensure classrooms are consistently stocked and prepared

Team Collaboration & Events

  • Provide support for the Westside Kids Team regarding daily responsibilities and strategic planning initiatives
  • Collaborate with the Elementary Director and Kids Coordinator on events and holiday programming (Easter, Christmas, Day Camp)

Administrative

  • Participate in staff connect meetings, staff lunches, and other staff functions if available
  • Respond to emails and phone calls in a timely manner
  • Maintain an up-to-date calendar and ensure clear communication with staff and teams
