Job description

About Us
Here at Performance Validation, Inc. (PV) we have been providing Commissioning, Qualification, and Validation services to the life science industries for over 30 years! We are a 100% employee-owned company with teams in Indiana, Michigan, Illinois, Kansas, Washington, and North Carolina, and we support clients throughout the US and overseas. As an employer, PV is committed to providing growth opportunities to our employees through professional development, implementation of new services, and cultivation of new geographical areas.
About the Job
Performance Validation is seeking an Account Manager โ€” Key Accounts to join our Service Delivery team in Indianapolis. This is the role for someone who does not want to choose between staying technical and moving toward the commercial side of the business โ€” because here you do both.
You will be a primary day-to-day contact for some of our most important life science clients, working alongside the Account Director and VP, Key Accounts to grow those relationships. You will also stay in the work: at least half your time is billable, leading or contributing to client engagements. That mix is deliberate. Clients trust an account manager who has actually executed the work, and you will have the credibility to sit in a technical discussion about qualification strategy and a commercial one about scope and pricing on the same afternoon.
What You Will Do
  • Serve as a primary day-to-day client contact, staying in regular communication with assigned accounts to understand their operational priorities, upcoming initiatives, and where PV services can add value.
  • Support the Account Director and VP, Key Accounts in client meetings, business reviews, and account planning, building a working understanding of each clientโ€™s business objectives, capital investment priorities, organizational structure, and strategic initiatives.
  • Identify opportunities for repeat business, expanded scopes of work, and additional service offerings within existing accounts.
  • Execute billable client work as a project lead, project manager, or technical contributor, maintaining at least 50% billable utilization alongside your account responsibilities.
  • Contribute to technical discussions spanning validation, commissioning, qualification, engineering, quality systems, temperature mapping, cleanroom operations, and related compliance activities.
  • Support proposals, Statements of Work, bid responses, bid defenses, and capability presentations, partnering with technical and operational teams to gather scope, resourcing, scheduling, and pricing.
  • Qualify opportunities on both technical and non-technical grounds, including stakeholder alignment, procurement strategy, competitive landscape, evaluation criteria, and potential barriers to award.
  • Partner with Service Delivery and Project Leadership to transition cleanly from proposal award to execution, communicating client expectations, scope, and operational requirements to delivery teams.
  • Align client expectations with our operational capabilities, keep engagements consistent with PV quality standards, and build awareness of competitor activity and market positioning.

Requirements You Will Need
Education
Bachelorโ€™s degree in Engineering, Life Sciences, Business, Management, or a related technical field preferred. Equivalent experience may be considered.

Experience
  • Minimum of 5 years in life sciences, pharmaceutical manufacturing, consulting, account support, project coordination, or commercial support roles.
  • Prior experience in a regulated cGMP environment.
  • Working knowledge of pharmaceutical manufacturing, CQV, validation, engineering, or related technical disciplines.
  • Experience supporting proposals, Statements of Work, or other client-facing commercial activities.
  • Experience working within cross-functional project teams.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Teams.

Skills You Will Bring
  • Strong interpersonal, communication, and relationship-building skills with both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
  • A consultative mindset โ€” you offer advice and recommendations rather than simply executing assigned tasks.
  • Intellectual curiosity and a proactive approach to understanding client organizations, industry trends, and market dynamics.
  • Strong organizational skills and the ability to manage multiple priorities and deadlines.
  • Self-motivated and adaptable in a dynamic, client-facing environment.
  • Attention to detail and a commitment to quality and professionalism.

What We Have to Offer
  • Competitive base salary and biannual profit share
  • Employee stock ownership program (ESOP) and 401(k) company match
  • Medical, vision, and dental coverage
  • Disability and life insurance
  • Paid vacation and holidays
  • Internal and external training opportunities
  • Cellphone stipend
  • Company-sponsored team building outings
