VTG is looking for a Systems Engineer- Architecture in Chantilly, VA. (Note: Contingent upon program award).
Junior Systems Engineer- Architecture supports NRO programs by assisting in the development and documentation of system and mission architectures. This role focuses on understanding mission needs, supporting architectural products, and maintaining traceability across requirements, interfaces, and system elements.
Mid-Level Systems Engineer- Architecture supports NRO programs by assisting in the development and documentation of system and mission architectures. This role focuses on understanding mission needs, supporting architectural products, and maintaining traceability across requirements, interfaces, and system elements.
Senior Systems Engineer- Architecture serves as an architecture lead for NRO programs, responsible for shaping, evaluating, and governing mission and enterprise architectures across complex systems. This role provides technical leadership, ensures architectural coherence, and advises government leadership on system design, integration, and long-term evolution.
What will you do?
Junior Systems Engineer- Architecture
  • Assist in development and documentation of system and segment architectures
  • Support creation and maintenance of architecture views (operational, system, and technical)
  • Assist with requirements allocation and traceability across architectural elements
  • Support interface identification and documentation across system boundaries
  • Participate in technical reviews and architecture working groups
  • Maintain architecture artifacts, diagrams, and baseline documentation

Mid-Level Systems Engineer- Architecture
  • Develop and analyze end-to-end system architectures supporting mission objectives
  • Define and manage interfaces, dependencies, and integration points across systems
  • Allocate requirements to architectural elements and ensure traceability
  • Support trade studies and architecture alternatives analysis
  • Contribute to lifecycle and readiness reviews from an architectural perspective
  • Support technical governance forums and architecture review boards

Senior Systems Engineer- Architecture
  • Lead development of mission, system, and enterprise architectures
  • Define architectural principles, standards, and constraints across programs
  • Oversee allocation of requirements and interfaces across complex system-of-systems environments

  • Support senior-level technical reviews, readiness assessments, and decision forums

  • 10+ years of systems engineering experience with primary emphasis on architecture development
  • Demonstrated experience leading architecture efforts for IC, NRO, or comparable national security programs
  • Expert knowledge of systems architecture and lifecycle engineering
  • Experience with system-of-systems architecture and enterprise integration
  • Proficiency with architecture frameworks, modeling approaches, and technical governance
  • Strong leadership and stakeholder engagement capabilities

Pay Range: VTG's estimated starting pay range is $105,000 - $210,000 annually, which is a general guideline for and depending on the geographic location. When extending an offer, VTG also considers work experience, education, skill level, market considerations and may possibly include contractual requirements which may cause an offer to fall outside of this range
