Job Type: Contract
Position Overview
We are seeking an experienced Structural Engineer for a contract opportunity with our client in Indianapolis, IN. This role will provide technical leadership for structural design and engineering deliverables across projects of varying size and complexity. The Structural Engineer will play a key role in guiding design efforts, ensuring quality and schedule adherence, and supporting the development of junior engineering staff.
This position requires strong expertise in structural systems for industrial and process facilities, along with the ability to collaborate with multidisciplinary teams and maintain effective communication with internal stakeholders and clients.
Key Responsibilities
  • Provide discipline leadership for the structural design and documentation of projects of various sizes and scopes.
  • Ensure structural engineering deliverables meet quality standards and project schedules.
  • Support the Department Manager with coordination and oversight of structural discipline activities.
  • Provide technical guidance, mentorship, and support to junior structural engineers and designers.
  • ssist with structural staff forecasting to align project workloads with available resources.
  • Participate in employee evaluations and provide performance feedback when needed.
  • Support project proposal efforts including scope definition and development of engineering budgets.
  • Maintain clear and effective communication with project teams, management, and clients.
  • Promote and support the implementation of data-centric engineering tools and workflows.
  • Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to ensure structural solutions align with overall project goals.
Qualifications
  • Bachelor's or Master's degree in Civil Engineering or Structural Engineering.
  • Professional Engineer (P.E.) License required.
  • Minimum 12+ years of experience in structural engineering design for pharmaceutical, industrial, or chemical facilities.
  • Demonstrated experience leading structural design for steel and concrete structures across multiple project sizes and delivery methods.
  • dvanced proficiency with STAAD and STAAD Pro.
  • Working knowledge of utoCAD, Revit, and Navisworks.
  • Strong understanding of building codes and applicable structural design standards.
  • Previous experience mentoring and leading structural engineers and designers.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills with the ability to collaborate effectively across teams.
