Our award-winning culture embraces a bold vision of where technology can take us and a passion for tackling challenging problems with industry-first solutions. We believe that when people feel a sense of belonging, they can be more creative, innovative, and thrive at all points in their careers.

Responsibilities

The Solution Engineer is integral to the Sales department, dedicated to designing and delivering sophisticated technological solutions across Keysight's Network and Application/Security (NAS) test portfolio. This role demands a profound comprehension of testing systems and networking protocols, along with unwavering support for complex technologies, including the core demands of AI/ML data center networking. The successful candidate will thrive in a dynamic, high-velocity environment and bring strong adaptability and a collaborative, team-first approach.

A background equivalent to a U.S. Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or Engineering is essential. The role entails proficiency in both pre-sales and post-sales, with a solid understanding of networking and routing protocols such as ISIS, OSPF, and MP-BGP, as well as EVPN/Segment Routing, with knowledge of data encapsulations including MPLS, VxLAN, MACSec, and RoCEv2 technologies.

As AI and machine learning workloads reshape modern data center architectures, deep expertise in AI/ML back-end network fabrics, including RoCEv2/RDMA performance, lossless Ethernet behavior (PFC, ECN, DCQCN), and congestion management for large-scale GPU cluster environments, is required. Familiarity with Private and Public Cloud capabilities, including Linux, KVM, Containers, Kubernetes, AWS, GCP, and Azure, is highly advantageous. Advanced Python automation skills are essential for process optimization and driving innovation in solution development and deployment.

Responsibilities

  • Serving as the lead technical authority and crafting advanced technical solutions for Keysight's product and service portfolio, including AI data center test solutions.
  • Leading design and consultation sessions with prospective clients, showcasing expertise in protocols and driving the solution discussion.
  • Taking end-to-end ownership of complex problems and partnering across teams to support broader business objectives and customer needs.
  • Adapting to shifting business priorities and workload demands while maintaining a solution-oriented, execution-focused mindset.
  • Delivering sales presentations, product installations, and maintenance, ensuring seamless product integration into customer systems.
  • Integrating Keysight products and services at the system level into the customer's environment and ensuring interoperability.
  • Leading customer validation of AI/ML back-end network fabrics, including RoCEv2/RDMA performance, lossless Ethernet behavior (PFC, ECN, DCQCN), and congestion control for large-scale GPU cluster training and inference workloads, and advising customers on fabric design trade-offs.
  • Tailoring solutions to meet customer needs, capitalizing on knowledge of networking, routing, and AI data center fabric protocols.
  • Developing product demonstrations and customer training materials.
  • Leveraging Python automation for enhanced efficiency and rapid prototyping, with a solid understanding of the overall QA automation framework.
  • Staying informed of industry trends, competitive products, and the latest in networking protocols, AI/ML fabric technologies, and automation techniques, including understanding the customers' test automation frameworks.
  • Collaborating with the Engineering and Product Management teams to refine product features.
  • Facilitating the sales process for complex or advanced systems or applications, constructing proof-of-concept tests to demonstrate solution capabilities.
  • Mentoring junior Solution Engineers and acting as an escalation point for the most complex technical opportunities.

Qualifications

  • 8+ years in customer-facing engineering roles is a must, with pre-sales roles strongly preferred.
  • Expert proficiency with IEEE 802.3 Ethernet and TCP/IP internetworking.
  • Working experience (production or lab) of modern data center and backbone architectures and protocols: CLOS, Leaf/Spine, VxLAN, EVPN, BGP, OSPF, MPLS, Segment Routing.
  • 7+ years of automation/scripting experience with Python and REST APIs.
  • 5+ years of experience with traffic generation / network test equipment. Working experience with Ixia test products is preferred.
  • Experience with virtualization stacks: KVM/Open vSwitch, VMware/NSX; containerization: Docker, K8s.
  • Working knowledge of public clouds (AWS, GCP).
  • Demonstrated expertise in AI/ML data center networking, including RoCEv2/RDMA, lossless Ethernet, and congestion control mechanisms (PFC/ECN/DCQCN), with hands-on experience validating GPU cluster fabrics, rail-optimized CLOS designs, and AI workload traffic patterns (e.g., collective communication such as NCCL).
  • Hands-on experience with AI network test/validation solutions such as Keysight KAI (Keysight AI) Data Center Builder, with working knowledge of Ultra Ethernet (UEC) and InfiniBand as fabric alternatives.
  • Strong collaboration and interpersonal skills, with an openness to feedback, a team-first approach, and the ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment where priorities can shift.
  • Ability to travel up to 30% of work time.
