Job description

ASRC Federal Technology Solutions is looking for a Jr Software Trainer to join our team in support of the US Patent and Trademark Office located in Alexandria, VA. 

Work Arrangement: Hybrid in Alexandria, VA 

Requirements:

  • Associate's or Bachelor's degree  (preferred major in education, training or related field but not required); education requirement may be waived for four (4) years of relevant in education/training.
  • Two years of experience providing training, preferably in an adult learning setting.
  • Must be able to work in a demanding production-oriented position.
  • Must have strong communication skills.
  • Eligibility requirements for this position include successful completion of a well-developed training course on four major proprietary systems in order to meet internal certification requirements within 4 months of receiving their equipment.
  • Permanent Residency or US Citizenship is required for the federal government background investigation.

Responsibilities:

  • Conducts user training courses with a primary focus on automation tool training and assistance.
  • Organizes training classes, manages a library of digital materials, assists with scheduling and conducting virtual training via Microsoft Teams.
  • Facilitates training team meetings.
  • Provides training on major automation tools used at the USPTO.
  • Training may be via formal or informal settings including virtual and in-person classroom training, presentations, demonstrations, one-on-one assistance and providing hotline assistance.
  • Assists with modifications or customization of existing training materials.
  • For formal training sessions, ensures all training materials are available, ensures all equipment is functional prior to start of session.
  • May be asked to test new products from the user's viewpoint and provide input to help clarify training requirements.
  • Some advanced skills using MS Access and Excel greatly preferred.
