US Corporates - Credit Analyst, Director - Middle Market/Private Debt Leveraged Finance
Fitch US Corporates Group is currently seeking a Director within the Middle Market/Private Debt team based out of our New York/Chicago/Toronto office.

• A role and platform that helps lenders to Middle Market issuers make better informed decisions via timely, insightful and forward-looking rating actions and research.
We'll Count on You To:
• Further build out Fitch's existing suite of research on Middle Market/Private Debt topics which targets Fitch's external audience of institutional investors, private equity sponsors, private debt funds, CLO managers and credit hedge funds;
• Perform data analysis of key quantitative and qualitative factors influencing the Middle Market and credit profiles of borrowers in support of new research;
• Manage junior staff on a project-by-project basis to efficiently grow the research portfolio;
• Communicate with investors and sell-side counterparties to further explain research findings, grow Fitch's brand awareness and generate ideas for new research topics in Middle Market/Private Credit/Direct Lending.
What You Need to Have:
• 5-10 years of relevant experience;
• Bachelor's degree required;
• Expertise in Microsoft Excel;
• Strong analytical, quantitative, and organizational skills;
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills;
• Ability to shift fluidly between multiple projects as priorities change;
• Ability to excel in a team-oriented environment;
• Employee management experience a plus.
• CFA and/or MBA a plus;
What Would Make You Stand Out:
• An objective-driven self-starter who is looking for a role with substantial entrepreneurial potential;
• A deep understanding of and a keen interest in Middle Market Lending and/or Private Credit;
• A background in capital markets and/or credit analysis and well-developed corporate finance skills;
• Experience executing on research projects - from idea generation through writing and presenting at industry events and in media;
• Outstanding interpersonal skills displayed by a strong pattern of leadership and the ability to proactively and successfully interact with various stakeholders, both within and outside of the organization.

FOR NEW YORK AND CALIFORNIA ROLES ONLY: Expected base pay rates for the role will be between $150,000 and $180,000. Actual salaries will be determined on an individualized basis and may vary based on factors including but not limited to education, training, experience, past performance, and other job-related factors. Base pay is one part of Fitch's total compensation package, which, depending on the position, may also include commission earnings, discretionary bonuses, long-term incentives, and other benefits sponsored by Fitch.
