About this Role

Quanta Power Solutions is seeking an experienced Senior Project Accountant to support large-scale EPC and infrastructure projects across the power generation sector. This role provides advanced financial oversight, project accounting leadership, and strategic support for complex, multi-million-dollar construction and engineering programs.ย 

The Senior Project Accountant will serve as a key financial partner to Project Management, Project Controls, and executive leadership, ensuring accurate financial reporting, strong cost control, and compliance across all active EPC projects.

What You'll Do

Project Financial Leadershipย 

  • Lead project accounting activities across multiple complex EPC projects from initiation through closeoutย 

  • Oversee project financial performance, including costs, revenue recognition, billing, and commitmentsย 

  • Ensure accuracy of monthly close processes, journal entries, reconciliations, and financial reportingย 

  • Provide financial guidance to project teams on contract structure and accounting implicationsย 

Advanced Cost & Billing Oversightย 

  • Review and approve complex client billing applications and project invoicesย 

  • Manage progress billing, retainage, change orders, and contract-specific financial requirementsย 

  • Partner with Project Controls to validate cost reporting, forecasting, and earned value dataย 

  • Resolve high-level billing disputes and subcontractor financial discrepanciesย 

Financial Analysis & Reportingย 

  • Perform advanced variance analysis, forecasting, and project performance reportingย 

  • Identify financial risks, margin impacts, and cost overruns across active projectsย 

  • Prepare executive-level financial summaries and project performance dashboardsย 

  • Ensure accuracy and integrity of data within ERP and accounting systemsย 

Compliance & Controlsย 

  • Ensure compliance with GAAP, corporate accounting policies, and contractual obligationsย 

  • Support internal and external audits, including documentation preparation and issue resolutionย 

  • Maintain strong financial controls and enforce proper cost coding and allocation structuresย 

  • Identify and implement process improvements within project accounting workflowsย 

Cross-Functional Leadershipย 

  • Serve as a senior liaison between accounting, operations, project management, and procurement teamsย 

  • Provide mentorship and guidance to Project Accountant I-III staffย 

  • Support training efforts and development of junior accounting personnelย 

  • Contribute to continuous improvement initiatives across project accounting and finance functionsย 

What You'll Bring
  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, Business Administration, or related fieldย 
  • 7-12+ years of experience in project accounting, preferably in EPC, construction, or industrial environmentsย 
  • Strong understanding of percentage-of-completion accounting and revenue recognition principlesย 
  • Experience with project cost controls, WIP reporting, and financial forecastingย 
  • Proficiency with ERP systems (JD Edwards, SAP, Oracle, or similar)ย
