Job description

Company Description

Farther is a rapidly growing RIA that combines expert advisors with cutting-edge technology - delivering a comprehensive, tailored wealth management experience.

Farther's founders are leaders and innovators from the private wealth industry who possess a unique blend of traditional wealth management, fintech, and technology production expertise. We're backed by top-tier venture capital firms, fintech investors, and industry leaders.

Joining Farther means joining a collaborative team of entrepreneurs who are passionate about helping their clients and our teammates achieve more. If you're the type who breaks through walls to get things done the right way, we want to build the future of wealth management with you.

The Role

You've built a book. Now you want to grow it. Farther gives experienced advisors a modern platform and genuine support structure to scale what they've already built — serving the clients and categories that suit them best, whether that's professionals, nonprofits, high-net-worth families, small business owners, or a mix of all of the above.

With more than 37 years of experience spanning 401(k)s, ultra-high-net-worth clients, nonprofits, estate planning, and executive compensation, you'll work directly with a managing director who brings genuine depth across virtually every client category — and a track record of helping advisors move up market. If you're looking for a team where leadership is accessible, mentorship is real, and your growth is a shared priority, this is the right fit.

We grow together. You keep your clients. Your success contributes to the team, and the team's resources accelerate what you do.

Your Impact

  • Manage and grow a book of business by delivering comprehensive wealth management services across investments, retirement planning, estate planning, insurance, and tax strategy.
  • Transition existing client relationships onto Farther's platform, ensuring a seamless experience for clients throughout the onboarding process.
  • Prospect for new clients through referrals, community engagement, professional networks, and direct outreach — maintaining a consistent pipeline of qualified opportunities.
  • Build and maintain long-term client relationships across a range of profiles, including high-net-worth individuals and families, professionals, nonprofits, executives, and small business owners.
  • Leverage Farther's technology, planning tools, and support infrastructure to deliver a high-quality, personalized client experience.
  • Collaborate with team members on complex client situations, contribute institutional knowledge, and support the development of junior advisors over time.

The Ideal Match

  • Minimum $10–15M AUM book of business with transferable client relationships.
  • Series 65 or 66 license required.
  • Demonstrated track record of proactive business development and consistent client prospecting.
  • History of strong client retention and organic book growth.
  • Breadth of experience across multiple client types and planning disciplines.
  • Collaborative working style with a long-term orientation toward practice ownership.

Bonus Points

  • CFP, CFA, ChFC, AIF, or other advanced designations
  • Experience with nonprofits, 401(k)s, executive comp, or small business owners
  • Background mentoring or developing junior advisors
  • 30M+ AUM book looking for a more flexible, modern platform

Why Join Us

  • Benefits: Comprehensive medical benefits (health & dental, vision) & retirement benefits (401(k) matching & Roth IRA options), unlimited PTO, growth opportunities at a fast-scaling fintech, veteran industry experts to learn from
  • Transitions Made Simple: We streamline your client transition with personalized planning, communication support, and full operational assistance — letting you focus on what matters most.
  • Compensation: Top-tier industry payouts, plus the opportunity to grow your book 3X faster with better client solutions and virtually zero ops and admin work.
  • Location Flexibility: Work where you work best. We're built for both remote and hybrid collaboration across major hubs and anywhere in between.
