Job Summary:

Marketing Officer is responsible for

  • Maintaining and servicing existing portfolio as Marketing Officer (MO),
  • Developing banking business with new and existing customers, and
  • Driving various projects especially on corporate banking business for Japanese companies.

Major Responsibilities:

  • Conduct daily corporate banking operations including boarding of loan and deposit products in line with various bank policies and procedures under the general guidelines provided by Relationship Manager (RM).
  • Face customers to 1) maintain relationship and accounts, understanding customers’ business, organization, and banking transaction, 2) help develop new business such as commercial loan, deposit, transaction banking, foreign exchange, and derivative, 3) negotiate terms and conditions for maximizing profitability as well as minimizing risk.
  • Support RMs by acting as their liaison to various internal parties such as Product Office in the US, Head Quarter in Tokyo, Japan, and MUFG’s other offices / branches all over the world.
  • Participate in various projects including rule / procedure change, revising fee table, and improving operational efficiency and effectiveness.
  • Perform all duties related to compliance matters as required by management. Ensure adherence to all bank policies and procedures relative to Regulatory Compliance as required.
  • Perform and coordinate other duties and projects as assigned by Department Head, Team Manager or RMs.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Business / Finance / Economics required.
  • 1 year of professional experience; banking experience in U.S. and international market is preferred.
  • Strong interpersonal and organizational skills.
  • Strong financial aptitude and broad analytical ability. Excellent oral and written communications skills including excellent business writing, editing, and proofreading skills.
  • Knowledge of domestic and foreign financial markets and products, including non-banking financial institutions, is preferred.
  • Bilingual in Japanese and English is required.

The typical base pay range for this role is between $66K - $85K depending on job-related knowledge, skills, experience and location. This role may also be eligible for certain discretionary performance-based bonus and/or incentive compensation.
