Position Overview

We are seeking an experienced HR Generalist / HR Manager to support and manage day-to-day HR operations. This role is ideal for someone who is hands-on, detail-oriented, and comfortable managing a wide range of HR responsibilities in a small to mid-sized organization.
Key Responsibilities

  • Manage full-cycle HR operations including onboarding and offboarding processes
  • Process and manage payroll accurately and in a timely manner
  • Administer employee benefits (health, dental, vision, etc.)
  • Maintain and update employee records and HR documentation
  • Ensure compliance with federal, state (California), and local labor laws
  • Serve as a point of contact for employee inquiries and HR-related issues
  • Support performance management and employee relations as needed
  • Assist with recruiting efforts, including job postings and interview coordination
  • Communicate and coordinate with internal stakeholders in both English and Japanese
  • Collaborate with management to improve HR processes and workplace practices
Qualifications

  • 3–5 years of experience in Human Resources
  • Japanese-English bilingual (required)
  • Hands-on experience with payroll processing (required)
  • Strong knowledge of HR operations including onboarding, offboarding, and compliance
  • Familiarity with California labor laws preferred
  • Strong organizational and communication skills
  • Ability to handle multiple tasks in a fast-paced environment
  • Experience working in a small or mid-sized company preferred
Preferred Qualifications

  • HR certification (e.g., SHRM-CP, SHRM-SCP, PHR, SPHR) is a plus, but not required
