As our bakery programs continue to expand, we are seeking a passionate, hands-on Bakery Supervisor to uphold our renowned standards of freshness, authenticity, and exceptional customer experience.
Position summery.....
The Bakery Supervisor leads daily production, ensures high-quality execution of all baked goods, manages team performance, and supports multiple locations in a fast-paced, high-volume environment. This role blends technical baking expertise with leadership, merchandising, and operational strategy-qualities reflected in other bakery manager roles.
Responsibilities
Operational Excellence & Production
  • Develop daily production plans to maintain full in-stock conditions and accurate pars.
  • Streamline production workflows for efficiency while retaining artisanal quality.
  • Lead holiday production planning using structured calendars and data-driven forecasting-consistent with expectations for bakery leaders during seasonal peaks.
  • Lead, train, and mentor bakers, decorators, and support staff across multiple stores.
  • Conduct performance reviews, skill assessments, and ongoing coaching to encourage growth-reflective of the development focus in Uncle G's culture.
  • Build a pipeline of future bakery leaders through cross-training.
  • Conduct quality checks for taste, texture, consistency, and presentation-expectations mirrored across bakery manager job descriptions.
  • Maintain updated SOPs, recipe books, production standards, and visual guidelines.
  • Monitor labor spend, production yields, waste logs, and key financial metrics.
  • Support P&L analysis and operational decision-making.

Customer Experience & Merchandising
  • Partner with store teams to ensure bakery displays are full, attractive, and signed correctly.
  • Assist with customer inquiries, special orders, and service recovery when needed-similar to responsibilities listed in bakery manager and overnight baker roles.
  • Execute seasonal promotions and featured product rollouts.

Regulatory Compliance, Safety & Sanitation
  • Enforce strict sanitation procedures and food safety standards, consistent with bakery clerk and production postings.
  • Ensure correct labeling, rotation, allergen identification, and an audit-ready bakery environment.

Inventory, Procurement & Supply Chain
  • Oversee ingredient inventory levels, maintain vendor relationships, and forecast product needs using sales trends.
  • Reduce variance and prevent stockouts through controlled ordering and rotation-practices aligned with production-oriented bakery roles.

Position requirements:
  • HS Diploma, Baking and Pastry Arts Degree is required
  • Prior experience supervising bakery or food production teams within a very busy Bakery Production environment
  • Strong technical baking ability and deep understanding of production flow.
  • Excellent communication and leadership skills-characteristics emphasized in bakery manager postings.
  • Highly organized, detail-oriented, and committed to consistent product quality.
  • Strong sense of ownership and passion for Italian-inspired, scratch-made bakery items.
  • Ability to analyze financials, interpret production reports, and support profitable operations.
  • This role supports multiple Uncle Giuseppe's Marketplace locations and requires daily travel.
