About the Opportunity:

Do you enjoy leading projects that modernize and strengthen IT infrastructure, encompassing hardware, software, networks, data storage, data centers, security systems, cloud services, and evolving technology ecosystems? If so, you may be the next Information Technology Project Manager in Washington County's Information Technology Services Project Management Office.

Washington County's Information Technology Services Department is seeking an experienced Information Technology Project Manager to join our Project Management Office. This role is instrumental in delivering complex technology initiatives that support County operations, with a strong emphasis on enterprise infrastructure and software, systems modernization, and change management. The successful candidate will work closely with vendors, service providers, and County stakeholders to ensure solutions meet technical, contractual, and operational expectations.

While the position manages a diverse portfolio of IT projects across County departments, it will primarily focus on infrastructure initiatives such as modernizing data centers, upgrading network infrastructures, deploying security solutions, implementing enterprise server and storage platforms, system upgrades and migrations, migrating cloud environments, strengthening business continuity and disaster recovery capabilities, executing lifecycle modernization programs, and delivering enterprise business application deployments.

In addition to leading infrastructure-focused projects, this role contributes to the development of IT infrastructure and enterprise software systems playbooks, standards, and repeatable processes. The Information Technology Project Manager may also support documentation of best practices, creation of templates and guidelines, and training and onboarding for project managers and technical staff to ensure consistency in project delivery.

Education and Experience:
  • Bachelor's Degree in information systems, computer science, business administration, or a related field AND two (2) years of practical experience in management of complex information technology projects;OR

  • Associate's Degree in information systems, computer science, business administration, or a related fieldANDfour (4) years of practical experience in management of complex information technology projects;OR

  • Six (6) years of practical experience in the management of complex information technology projects.

Additional Requirements
  • Must have the ability to arrange for timely transportation to attend appointments and meetings at locations throughout the State of Oregon.

  • May be required to successfully pass an extensive criminal background and personal history check.

  • A Project Management Professional (PMP) Certification OR an Oregon Project Management Associate (OPMA) Certificate is preferred.
