Job Description:
Position description: Plan, initiate, and manage information technology (IT) projects. Lead and guide the work of technical staff. Serve as liaison between business and technical aspects of projects. Plan project stages and assess business implications for each stage. Monitor progress to assure deadlines, standards, and cost targets are met.
SME level description: Provides technical/management leadership on major tasks or technology assignments. Establishes goals and plans that meet project objectives. Has domain and expert technical knowledge. Directs and controls activities for a client, having overall responsibility for financial management, methods, and staffing to ensure that technical requirements are met. Interactions involve client negotiations and interfacing with senior management. Decision making and domain knowledge may have a critical impact on overall project implementation. May supervise others.
Qualifications: The Information Technology Project Manager (SME) shall possess the following qualifications (preferred): 5+ years of direct project management experience in delivery of information systems or computer network support services. The candidate should currently have a Bachelor's or Master's degree in Business Management, Computer Science, Engineering, Information Technology, or Cybersecurity and one or more of the following certifications: Certified Project Management Professional (PMP), Certified Project Director (CPD), or Master Project Manager (MPM).
