Job description

OVERVIEW
Ensure a safe environment for employees and customers at assigned stores. Provide on-site physical security, deter loitering and apprehend shoplifters. Assist Corporate Departments with investigations into suspected theft by customers and employees through internal theft investigations and external retail theft details. Coordinate with law enforcement in their investigation and prosecution of crimes. Assist with interdepartmental and store level training.
RESPONSIBILITIES (other duties may be assigned)
  1. While maintaining a 24/7/365 on call status respond to emergency situations at stores and coordinate the activities on site as directed by the LITS.
  2. Identify, coordinate, and perform all loss investigation, prevention, and physical security tasks as assigned.
  3. Observe and report safety and physical security concerns to Loss Investigation Supervisor.
  4. Prepare and maintain detailed reports on information gathered during the course of an investigation.
  5. Assist stores in the reduction of company shrink through internal and external theft investigation.
  6. Travel to different locations throughout the company on short notice, frequently requiring overnight stays, for reasons including but not limited to, investigation, coordination with law enforcement, and providing assistance to stores after the commission of a violent or other crime on premises.
  7. Deter loiterers and shoplifters and apprehend, as appropriate, while ensuring a safe and secure environment for customers and employees.
  8. Assist Loss Investigation Supervisor in training new LIT Agents and with "In Store" training, while continuing to enhance personal knowledge.
  9. Perform uniformed guard assessment at all covered locations in assigned area on a regular basis.

QUALIFICATIONS
(Equivalent combinations of education, licenses, certifications and/or experience may be considered)
Education
  • High School Diploma/GED required
  • Associate's Degree preferred

Experience
  • Minimum 2 years' experience in loss investigation/prevention, security, or related field required

Licenses/Certifications
  • Valid Driver's License
