What skills and qualifications are needed to thrive as an Internship RFP consultant?

To thrive as an Internship RFP Consultant, you need strong research, analytical, and written communication skills, often supported by coursework or experience in business, communications, or a related field. Familiarity with proposal management software, Microsoft Office Suite, and sometimes CRM tools is typically required. Attention to detail, time management, and collaboration are standout soft skills for excelling in this role. These abilities ensure high-quality, competitive proposals are developed efficiently, helping organizations secure important contracts and opportunities.

What is an Internship RFP consultant?

Internship RFP Consultants are professionals who assist organizations in creating, managing, and evaluating Requests for Proposals (RFPs) specifically related to internship programs. They help companies design effective internship offerings, source qualified interns, and ensure that the selection process is fair and compliant. Their expertise streamlines the RFP process, improves candidate quality, and helps organizations make strategic decisions about their internship programs.

How does an Internship RFP consultant typically collaborate with internal teams during a consulting engagement?

Internship RFP Consultants often work closely with cross-functional teams such as procurement, legal, and subject matter experts to gather requirements, draft proposals, and ensure compliance with organizational standards. Collaboration often involves regular meetings, status updates, and document reviews to align on project goals and timelines. Strong communication and project management skills are essential, as consultants must synthesize input from multiple stakeholders and ensure the final RFP meets both client needs and industry best practices.

Worldwide Mission Critical LLC

Plano, TX • On-site

Full-time

Re-posted 15 days ago

Job description

Description

Worldwide Mission Critical is a global owner's representation and project management company dedicated to the mission critical industry, helping companies deliver their data centers on time and under budget. Worldwide Mission Critical was founded on the principle that the right team of experienced data center professionals will deliver great projects. Our ability to put together oversight for all aspects of a project sets us apart.

As a Development Associate, you will support the development project management team in the early-stage planning and execution of data center projects. Working closely with senior Development Project Managers, you will assist in site due diligence, entitlement research, design coordination, and budget and schedule tracking. This is an excellent opportunity for an emerging professional looking to build a career in mission critical development, gaining hands-on exposure to the full development lifecycle of data center projects.

Responsibilities

  • Support Development Project Managers in the day-to-day coordination of data center development projects, tracking tasks, milestones, and action items across active assignments.
  • Assist with due diligence activities on new project opportunities, including site research, feasibility assessments, and compilation of findings for senior team review.
  • Research land use regulations, zoning requirements, and entitlement processes to support project planning and client advisory work.
  • Help coordinate design consultant teams by scheduling meetings, tracking deliverables, maintaining document logs, and distributing project communications.
  • Assist in the preparation and tracking of project budgets and schedules, flagging variances and supporting updates under the direction of senior project managers.
  • Support RFP processes and bid leveling efforts by organizing vendor submissions, preparing comparison summaries, and maintaining procurement trackers.
  • Maintain project documentation including meeting minutes, action item logs, contract files, and permit tracking records.
  • Assist with master planning and programming tasks, contributing to data gathering, site analysis, and coordination with design teams.
  • Build relationships with clients, consultants, and vendors under the mentorship of senior team members, supporting a professional and responsive project environment.
  • Contribute to internal reporting, presentation preparation, and special projects as assigned by the development leadership team.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Construction Management, Real Estate Development, Engineering, Urban Planning, or a related field preferred.
  • 0-2 years of experience in construction, real estate development, project management, or a related field; internship experience in development or mission critical environments a plus.
  • Basic understanding of construction and development processes; familiarity with data centers or mission critical environments is a bonus.
  • Strong organizational skills with the ability to track multiple tasks, deadlines, and deliverables simultaneously.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Excel, Word, PowerPoint, and Outlook; familiarity with project management tools a plus.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills; comfortable coordinating with consultants, vendors, and internal team members.
  • Eagerness to learn the development side of mission critical project management and grow within a fast-paced, high-performance team.
  • Detail-oriented and proactive, with a strong sense of ownership and follow-through on assigned tasks.
  • Ability to work collaboratively in a team environment while also managing independent workstreams with minimal supervision.
  • Willingness to travel to client sites and project locations approximately once per month or as required.
