Position Summary

Arora Engineers is seeking a motivated and detail-oriented Finance Co-op to join our Finance & Accounting team. This role provides students with hands-on experience supporting financial operations within a professional services and consulting environment. The Finance Co-op will gain exposure to project accounting, budgeting, financial reporting, accounts payable, accounts receivable, and enterprise resource planning (ERP) systems while working alongside experienced finance professionals.

Essential Responsibilities

  • Assist with day-to-day accounting and financial operations.
  • Support accounts payable and accounts receivable processes, including invoice review, payment tracking, and collections activities.
  • Assist with project financial reporting and analysis.
  • Prepare and maintain financial spreadsheets, reports, and supporting documentation.
  • Reconcile financial records and investigate discrepancies.
  • Support monthly, quarterly, and year-end closing activities.
  • Assist with budget preparation, forecasting, and variance analysis.
  • Compile and analyze financial data to support management decision-making.
  • Maintain organized financial records and documentation in accordance with company policies.
  • Collaborate with project managers and accounting staff to support project financial performance.
  • Gain hands-on experience using Deltek Vantagepoint ERP, including project setup support, project accounting, labor reporting, timesheet management, billing processes, financial reporting, and project performance tracking.
  • Participate in process improvement initiatives and special projects as assigned.

Required

  • Currently pursuing a Bachelor's degree in:
    • Finance
    • Accounting
    • Business Administration
    • Economics
    • Management Information Systems
    • Or a related field
  • Minimum GPA of 3.0 preferred.
  • Strong analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skills.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and Microsoft Office Suite.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Ability to handle confidential information with professionalism and discretion.
  • Strong attention to detail and accuracy.

Preferred

  • Prior internship, co-op, or relevant coursework in finance or accounting.
  • Experience working with ERP systems or financial software.
  • Knowledge of accounting principles and financial reporting concepts.
  • Familiarity with project-based accounting environments.
  • Interest in learning and utilizing Deltek Vantagepoint ERP within an engineering consulting organization.
