The Development Services Specialist plays a key role in supporting the organization’s fundraising, annual giving, and donor stewardship activities. This position is responsible for processing gifts and acknowledgments, managing tribute notifications, supporting employee campaigns, and coordinating event registrations. The Development Services Specialist maintains accurate donor and event data within the CRM system, generates reports, assists with prospect research, and provides general administrative support to the Development team. This role requires strong attention to detail, excellent organizational skills, and the ability to work collaboratively across departments to ensure efficient and accurate development operations.

This position is full time, Monday- Friday. Candidates must have the ability to come to the Wernersville campus a few days per week. Starting salary is between $23-25/hr, depending on experience level. 

Development Services Specialist Duties and Responsibilities:

  1. Process gifts and acknowledgements for Annual Fund Program related to but not limited to direct mailings and web gifts.
  2. Process tribute gifts and provide tribute gift notifications and mail to honorees and families.
  3. Provide Employee Campaign support, process acknowledgments.
  4. Supports the Development team as needed in following up on outstanding gifts.
  5. Coordinate all aspects of events registration. This includes but is not limited to recording information in the CRM system, gift entry, processing acknowledgments, providing weekly reports to development team, maintaining event documentation, creating and managing event pages in collaboration with Regional Vice Presidents, managing registrations and RSVPs in collaboration with development team, and closing out all programs and events as needed.
  6. Provide periodic reports to the supervisor
  7. Track and document patient scholarship letters for Endowed and Restricted Funds
  8. Manage returned mail
  9. Cross train with Development operations staff to learn all aspects of Development Services.
  10. Maintain Development/Alumni Event Calendar/Staff Birthday list
  11. Process department invoices
  12. Order Office Supplies
  13. Support prospect research initiatives as deemed necessary by the Senior Director of Development
  14. Collaborates with Database Administrator & Analyst to maintain date integrity, including updating data in CRM on a periodic basis.

Education, Experience and Qualifications:

  1. High School Diploma or equivalent, Bachelor’s degree preferred
  2. 3-5 years of professional administrative experience, including data entry, and organizational work.
  3. Experience in development services and/or using Raisers Edge database is strongly preferred.
  4. Proficient using Microsoft Word, Excel and Outlook and Teams.
  5. 1 year of continuous sobriety is preferred, if in recovery.

  1. Excellent communication skills including writing, proof reading, and speaking.
  2. Ability to manage multiple projects and work assignments from a variety of staff.
  3. Excellent interpersonal skills both in person and by phone, with a high degree of professionalism.
