What is a Netflix Podcast?

A Netflix Podcast is an audio program produced or sponsored by Netflix that explores topics related to Netflix's original programming, entertainment industry trends, or behind-the-scenes stories. These podcasts often feature interviews with actors, directors, writers, and other creators involved in Netflix shows and movies. They are designed to give listeners deeper insights into popular Netflix content, storytelling processes, and cultural impact. Netflix Podcasts are typically available on major podcast platforms like Spotify, Apple Podcasts, and Google Podcasts.

What are the key skills and qualifications needed to thrive as a Podcast Producer at Netflix, and why are they important?

To thrive as a Podcast Producer at Netflix, you need strong audio production skills, storytelling ability, and experience in media or journalism, often supported by a relevant degree. Familiarity with digital audio workstations (DAWs) like Pro Tools or Adobe Audition, podcast hosting platforms, and editing software is typically required. Excellent communication, creativity, and organizational skills help producers manage projects, coordinate with talent, and ensure high-quality content. These skills are important to create engaging podcasts that align with Netflix's brand and captivate their audience.

What are some common challenges faced by a podcast producer working at Netflix, and how can they be addressed?

As a podcast producer at Netflix, a common challenge is coordinating with multiple creative teams to align podcast content with the company's brand and programming schedule. Working across departments often requires excellent communication and flexibility to adapt to shifting priorities and tight deadlines. Staying updated on Netflix's original content releases and ensuring timely, engaging podcast episodes can be demanding, but leveraging strong project management tools and fostering collaborative relationships can help ensure smooth production workflows.

Can you really get paid to be a Netflix reviewer?

Netflix does not officially hire reviewers or critics as employees, but some content creators, influencers, or freelance reviewers may earn money by reviewing Netflix shows through sponsorships, affiliate marketing, or social media platforms. These roles typically require strong communication skills, a following, or relevant experience, and are not formal jobs directly offered by Netflix.

What is the difference between Netflix Podcast vs Netflix Content Producer?

The Netflix Podcast focuses on producing audio content for listeners, often involving hosting and audio editing. While both roles require creative skills, the Podcast role is specialized in audio, whereas the Content Producer oversees diverse media formats within Netflix's content ecosystem.

Will Netflix pay you $700K?

The Netflix Podcast role is a content creation position that typically offers salaries based on experience and market standards, but earning $700,000 annually is highly unlikely for this role. Such high compensation levels are generally reserved for executive or high-level corporate positions within the company. Most podcast-related jobs pay significantly less and focus on skills like audio editing, storytelling, and content management.

How to get hired for a podcast?

To get hired for a podcast role, candidates should develop relevant skills such as audio editing, scripting, and interviewing, often using tools like Adobe Audition or Audacity. Building a portfolio with sample episodes or projects and gaining experience through internships or freelance work can improve chances of employment in podcast production or hosting roles.

Job description

We're a small team making a big podcast. Come help us book our next season!

ABOUT US:

Connection is Magic is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit and podcast that explores the intersection of music, culture, and mental health, serving as a Lighthouse for Creatives. Hosted by Samson Shulman, a former Interscope Records executive turned therapist, the show has surpassed 8 million views on YouTube and ranks in the top 5% of the most globally shared podcasts on Spotify, streaming in 66 countries. It has featured notable guests including Jack Black, G-Eazy, Katonya Breaux (Frank Ocean's Mother), Clancy (Tyler, The Creator's Manager), Kathryn Frazier (The Weeknd's Publicist), LaRussell, Coodie & Chike (directors of the Netflix documentary "Jeen-yuhs"), and Brock Korsan (Kendrick Lamar's A&R).

ABOUT YOU:

We're looking for a Guest Booking Intern to help us keep that momentum going. You'll work directly with Samson to research and pipeline potential guests across music, film, comedy, sports, and culture - building target lists, tracking outreach, drafting initial pitches, and helping coordinate the back-and-forth that turns a great idea into a booked episode. This is a hands-on seat with real exposure to how a podcast with this caliber of guest list actually gets made.

You should be hungry, organized, and obsessed with culture - someone who reads the liner notes, knows who manages who, and lights up at the idea of being in the rooms (real and virtual) where these conversations happen. Prior experience is a plus but not required; curiosity, taste, and follow-through matter more. If you're thinking about a career in music, entertainment, podcasting, or mental health advocacy, this is a rare chance to learn from the inside of a show that's genuinely moving the culture.

DETAILS:

  • 2-3 hours per week
  • Remote
