Job description

Provisional Employment is for applicants interested in working 15+ hours weekly with a variable schedule throughout the year - perfect for students, those with secondary jobs/internships, or other obligations that need a more adaptive schedule. 


Opus Coffee has been roasting and serving high-quality coffee since 2002. From bean to cup, our baristas are at the center of our mission: Serving good coffee for good people. Across Gainesville, our ten locations strive to provide a positive and inclusive company culture and place of growth for our employees. As a Barista, you will educate customers on our products, craft high-quality drinks by following recipes and proper bar techniques, and cultivate community with guests and coworkers alike each day.


The starting base pay for this position is $14/hour, plus our tip pool and cash tips, making for an hourly average of $16-$17 to start. We also offer additional raises for bar training and biannual increases. Here's what we're looking for in a Barista candidate: 


  • At least one year of customer-facing food service industry experience is required
  • Barista experience is preferred - but a passion for quality coffee is enough
  • Able to work 3 shifts or more per week
  • Demonstrates outgoing and positive attitude with guests
  • Communicates openly and honestly with coworkers and leadership
  • Interest in collaborating for constant growth and innovation
