This role is responsible for overseeing internet sales activities, CRM management, lead response processes, appointment generation, digital customer engagement, and coordination between the sales, BDC, marketing, and finance departments. Job Description:

Internet Sales Leadership & Team Development

  • Lead, coach, train, motivate, and support Internet Sales Consultants and personnel responsible for digital customer engagement.
  • Monitor employee productivity, lead response times, appointment-setting performance, closing ratios, and customer communication quality.
  • Support staffing, onboarding, coaching, performance management, and employee development initiatives within the internet sales department.
  • Establish departmental expectations for lead handling, CRM utilization, customer follow-up, appointment scheduling, and digital communication standards.
  • Conduct regular coaching sessions utilizing CRM reporting, recorded communications, and performance metrics to improve lead conversion and customer satisfaction.
  • Foster a collaborative, accountable, and performance-oriented culture focused on continuous improvement and exceptional customer service.

Internet Sales Operations & Lead Management

  • Oversee daily management and distribution of internet, phone, text, chat, social media, and third-party leads to ensure timely and effective customer engagement.
  • Monitor CRM workflows to ensure all customer inquiries receive prompt, accurate, and professional responses in accordance with dealership standards.
  • Ensure consistent execution of lead management processes from initial inquiry through vehicle delivery and post-sale follow-up.
  • Review lead sources, conversion metrics, appointment show rates, and sales performance to identify opportunities for operational improvements.
  • Monitor inventory availability and coordinate with dealership leadership to accurately present vehicle availability and alternative purchasing options to customers.
  • Support implementation of digital sales initiatives, manufacturer programs, and dealership marketing campaigns designed to increase qualified traffic and sales opportunities.
  • Maintain accurate customer records, lead status updates, communication histories, and reporting within dealership CRM systems.

Customer Experience & Interdepartmental Coordination

  • Promote a hospitality-driven customer experience centered on responsiveness, professionalism, transparency, and long-term relationship development.
  • Assist customers throughout the online purchasing process by providing accurate vehicle information, financing resources, trade-in guidance, and appointment scheduling.
  • Address escalated customer concerns professionally and timely while supporting positive customer satisfaction outcomes.
  • Coordinate with sales managers, finance managers, marketing personnel, service departments, and dealership leadership to ensure a seamless customer experience.
  • Support customer retention initiatives through consistent follow-up communications, owner events, digital marketing campaigns, and satisfaction outreach.
  • Ensure customer communications reflect dealership standards for professionalism, brand representation, and customer care.

Performance Management & Operational Oversight

  • Support achievement of dealership objectives related to internet sales volume, appointment generation, closing percentages, gross profit, and customer satisfaction.
  • Monitor departmental performance through CRM reporting, sales dashboards, customer engagement metrics, and operational analysis.
  • Prepare operational reports, forecasting information, and performance summaries for dealership leadership.
  • Identify trends in customer behavior, marketing effectiveness, digital advertising performance, and lead sources to support strategic decision-making.
  • Recommend process improvements that enhance efficiency, lead conversion, customer satisfaction, and operational consistency.
  • Participate in leadership meetings, operational planning, budgeting discussions, and dealership growth initiatives.
