Job Summary


We are looking for a talented and suitably experienced person to join us as a Manager in the Benefits Department. This role will support the following benefit areas for the company:

  • Benefits administration (eligibility, enrollment, compliance, vendor integrations) for the Health & Welfare plans, including collaborating with internal BenAdmins
  • Leave of Absence/Disability administration in partnership with third party administrator
  • Benefits communications
  • Health & Welfare compliance (ACA, COBRA, HIPAA, election changes, etc.)
  • Coordination with payroll/HRIS, internal communications, legal, safety, etc.

This role is responsible for the day-to-day management of the programs listed above, including implementations, updates, vendor open items, employee inquiries, billings & payments, regulatory compliance, ensuring that employees have access to benefits they are eligible for and applicable vendors are managed appropriately.

This role will report to the Sr. Director, Health and Welfare Benefits and will be based in our Corporate office in Atlanta, GA

This is a hybrid position located at the corporate office in Atlanta, GA


Job Responsibilities


  • Manage day-to-day Health & Welfare plan administration, including strategic consultation and reporting, escalations and appeals
  • Manage vendor relationships and performance, including audits of enrollment system and reporting
  • Support plan compliance with federal/state regulations, including ERISA, HIPAA, ACA, FMLA, ADA, etc
  • Develop and implement multi-channel benefits communications to inform, engage and educate employees and future employees
  • Coordinate planning, communications and testing for Annual Enrollment
  • Other duties as assigned.


Job Requirements


  • Bachelor's Degree, or equivalent experience
  • 5+ years of combined experience in benefits, with significant expertise in managing Health & Welfare administration and/or Leave of Absence/Disability administration
  • Experience with multistate worksites and an employee population of over 10k employees is desirable.
  • Demonstrated experience working with an outsourced benefits administrator and successfully managing benefits plans and programs
  • Financial acumen: Experience in managing budgets, auditing, and understanding the financial impact of benefits on the organization.
  • Technical knowledge: In-depth knowledge of ACA, COBRA, ERISA, FMLA, HIPAA, IRS, and other applicable laws and governing agencies. Expertise in HR systems and benefits administration platforms.
  • Communication skills: Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to simplify and explain complex concepts clearly to all levels of the organization. Fluent in English.
  • Analytical skills: Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities to identify trends, root causes of health & welfare issues and implement plans/programs.
  • Planning and execution skills: The ability to break down complex issues and projects into actionable steps aligning with leadership to ensure goals and deadlines are met.
  • Organizational & Detail-Oriented Skills: Strong time management, process improvement, and attention to detail to successfully implement and manage health and welfare plans and programs.
