Hybrid-Atlanta, HQ. Ideal candidate is a Communications Specialist with 3-5 years experience who excels at crafting clear employee communications, managing internal channels, and supporting companywide priorities with strong execution.

Job Purpose:

Our Communications Specialist will lead Employee Communications across Veritiv, serving as the strategic owner of all-employee messaging and engagement. This role ensures communications align with enterprise priorities, reinforce culture and values, and enable leaders to effectively cascade information throughout the organization. Partnering cross-functionally with senior leaders, this role designs and executes integrated communications programs, establishes structured communication cadences, and governs internal channels - including intranet, digital signage, and enterprise email - to ensure consistency, clarity, and alignment. The Communications Specialist will build scalable engagement models and structured intake processes that improve efficiency while delivering clear, compelling messaging to both frontline and desk-based employees.

Job Responsibilities:

Lead development and execution of the enterprise-wide employee communications strategy aligned to business priorities and organizational goals.
Serve as strategic advisor to support functions and key business units on employee-facing communications initiatives.
Establish structured communication cadences, including leadership messaging frameworks and recurring enterprise updates.
Develop and implement leader enablement programs to equip managers with clear messaging and tools to cascade communications effectively.
Ensure consistency of messaging, tone, and brand standards across all employee-facing communications.
Oversee governance and optimization of internal communication channels, including intranet, digital signage, and enterprise email communications.
Expand and standardize communications reach to frontline and deskless employees through multi-channel engagement programs.
Partner with IT teams to enhance channel functionality, usability, and adoption.
Design and manage scalable intake and prioritization processes to ensure disciplined execution and demand management.
Establish performance metrics and reporting frameworks to measure engagement, reach, and communication effectiveness.

Additional Responsibilities & Qualifications:

Demonstrated experience leading enterprise-level employee communications programs in complex, fast-paced environments.

Strong executive presence and ability to advise senior leaders with credibility and confidence.

Experience establishing communication governance models, structured cadences, and scalable service frameworks.

Exceptional ability to simplify complex business information into clear, engaging messaging for diverse audiences.

Experience managing or optimizing internal communication platforms (intranet, digital signage, enterprise email systems).

Experience supporting large-scale organizational change initiatives preferred.

Work Experience:

3-5 years of related job experience. Ability to manage multiple projects, work under pressure, and adapt to sudden changes in the work environment. Ability to work in a team environment. Excellent verbal, written, people, and diplomacy skills are required. Must be highly motivated, flexible and deadline driven. Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite. Strong problem-solving and attention to detail skills are required.
