Job Title: Operations Intern - Prep Baseball Tournaments
Location: Cortland, NY
Duration: Memorial Weekend-Early/mid August
Compensation: $200/week; Housing included.

Position Overview:
We are seeking enthusiastic and detail-oriented Operations and Scouting Interns to join our team for the upcoming season. The ideal candidate will gain valuable experience in the sports management industry, working closely with our tournament operations team to help organize, execute, and manage baseball tournaments. This internship is an excellent opportunity to learn the ins and outs of running large-scale sports events while making a tangible impact on the success of the tournaments.
Operations
Key Responsibilities:
  • Assist with day-to-day event operations, including logistics, scheduling, and team registration.
  • Provide on-site support at tournament venues, ensuring smooth event execution.
  • Coordinate with vendors, staff, and volunteers to maintain high operational standards.
  • Help prepare tournament materials (e.g., schedules, rosters, scoreboards, team packets).
  • Assist with managing tournament brackets, team communications, and game-day logistics.
  • Support the customer service team by addressing participant and spectator inquiries.
  • Help with setup and breakdown of tournament facilities, ensuring readiness before and after games.
  • Aid in maintaining accurate records of event results and feedback.
  • Work with the marketing team to promote upcoming events and communicate with participants.
  • Other administrative and operational duties as assigned.

Scouting
Key Responsibilities:
  • Assist the scouting team in evaluating and recording player performance during tournaments.
  • Write player evaluations and scouting reports, highlighting key strengths and accomplishments.
  • Help to update player profiles and create content for the view of college coaches and professional scouts.
  • Capture and edit video footage of players and games for social media, website, and promotional materials.
  • Assist in writing and producing engaging content for social media platforms (Instagram, Twitter, Facebook, etc.), event websites, and newsletters.
  • Collaborate with the media team to create articles, blog posts, and other written content related to tournament results, player performances, and team highlights.
  • Manage tournament highlight footage, including editing and curating content for various platforms.
  • Help with live-streaming and media coverage during events.
  • Support the staff in maintaining a strong presence on social media, including real-time updates during tournaments.
  • Assist with post-event wrap-ups, including summarizing tournament outcomes, player performances, and event highlights.
  • Assist with oversight of our merchandise sales, ordering, etc.

Qualifications:
  • Currently enrolled in or recently graduated from a college/university with a focus on Sports Management, Business, Sports Media, or a related field
  • Strong passion for baseball and solid understanding of the game and its rules
  • Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal, with the ability to create clear and engaging content
  • Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple tasks and meet deadlines
  • Ability to work both independently and collaboratively in a team environment
  • Proficient in Google platforms (Docs, Sheets) and general office technology
  • Familiarity with social media platforms and best practices
  • Attention to detail and ability to perform under pressure, especially during busy tournament weekends
  • Willingness to work evenings, weekends, and extended hours as needed
  • Experience in sports media, event operations, scouting, or journalism is a plus
  • Experience with graphic design (e.g., Canva), photography, videography, or editing software is a plus
