Job description

Positionย Purposeย 

Theย Running Backsย Coachย is responsible forย assistingย the head coachย in implementing our offensive scheme and technique. Specifically, you will oversee and coach the running back position.

Essential Functionsย andย Dutiesย 

  • Responsible for teaching and overseeing the running backs.ย ย 
  • Responsible for being the head coach's locker room liaison. This responsibility will include, but not be limited to,ย maintainingย the Warrior Way inside the locker room, housekeeping, communication, and proper equipment wear for our US football program.ย 

  • Responsible for breaking down and presenting the opponent's defensive blitz package.ย 

  • Coordinate and communicate with collegiate football programsย regardingย recruiting visits and athlete exposure at Liberty Christianย 

  • Support andย participateย in all football program activities, including practices, games, offseason training, meetings, andย special eventsย 

  • Performย additionalย assignments and duties as directed to support the overall success of the football programย 

  • Demonstrate Christlike character and conduct consistent with the Warrior Way, modeling integrity, discipline, and leadership for student-athletes both on and off the fieldย 

  • Adhere to Student Protection Program (SPP) procedures and trainingsย

  • Strong knowledge of offensiveย and defensiveย line systems, run schemes, blocking techniques, and pass protection conceptsย 

  • Excellent verbal and written communication skillsย

  • Ability to communicate effectively with players, parents,ย coachingย staffย and administrationย 

  • Ability toย maintainย confidentiality and handle sensitive information appropriatelyย 

  • Ability toย representย the athletic department in a professional and Christlike mannerย 

  • Ability to instruct, motivate, and develop student-athletes in both skill and characterย 

  • Demonstrated leadership and facilitation skillsย 

  • Ability to work collaboratively under the direction of the Varsity Head Coachย 

  • Ability toย assistย and oversee JV development as assignedย 

  • Ability to model discipline, accountability, and teamworkย 

Education and Experienceย 

  • High school diploma or equivalent requiredย 

  • Previousย football coaching experience preferred, particularly at theย running backย positionย 

  • Demonstrated experience teaching football fundamentals and position-specific techniquesย 

  • Experience analyzing game film and preparing scouting reports preferredย 

  • Experience working with high school student-athletes preferredย 

Physicalย Requirements and Workย Environmentย 

  • Ability to stand, walk, and actively move on practice fields and sidelines for extended periods of timeย 

  • Ability toย demonstrateย drills, blocking techniques, and football fundamentals as neededย 

  • Ability to lift, carry, push, or pull equipment weighing up to 50 pounds (e.g., bags, sled components, shields, coolers)ย 

  • Ability to work outdoors in varying weather conditions, including extreme heat, cold, wind, and rainย 

  • Ability to travel with the team to away games and events asย requiredย 

  • Ability toย maintainย focus and sound judgment in fast-paced, high-pressure game and practice environmentsย 

  • Regular use of close and distance vision, including film review and on-field supervisionย 

  • May require evening, weekend, and off-season commitments consistent with the football scheduleย 

  • Seasonal, part-time position aligned with the football calendarย
