Job description

Our team provides qualified Accounting and Finance professionals on a temporary and permanent basis across a broad range of industries. GHJ's relationship with our Global Advisory and Accounting Network provides the resources needed to better understand client's needs, attract a higher caliber of candidates and assess candidate potential.
We are partnering with an organization seeking an experienced Interim Controller to provide leadership and oversight of accounting operations during a transitional period. This role will be responsible for managing the close process, financial reporting, internal controls, and day-to-day accounting functions while ensuring business continuity.
Responsibilities
  • Oversee daily accounting operations and financial reporting
  • Manage month-end and year-end close processes
  • Review financial statements and supporting schedules
  • Ensure compliance with GAAP and internal controls
  • Lead cash flow management and financial analysis efforts
  • Support audit preparation and external reporting requirements
  • Identify process improvements and operational efficiencies
  • Provide leadership and mentorship to accounting staff

Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance
  • 8+ years of progressive accounting experience
  • Prior Controller or accounting leadership experience
  • Strong knowledge of GAAP and financial reporting
  • ERP system experience and advanced Excel skills
  • Ability to quickly assess and improve accounting processes
