Job description

As a Systems Integration Engineer II, you'll be able to handle intermediate tasks in systems integration, with growing proficiency in requirements analysis and management. You'll conduct verification and validation (V&V) activities, manage software and hardware integration with minimal supervision, and support configuration management efforts. You'll develop and execute test plans with increased responsibility, solve and troubleshoot technical problems independently, and apply advanced analytical thinking and critical reasoning. Effective technical writing and documentation will be essential as you deepen your knowledge of aerospace and defense standards.
The ISR (Intelligence, Surveillance & Reconnaissance), Aviation, and Security (IAS) business area is a leader in ISR and aviation, it is a leading prime manned and unmanned aircraft systems integrator for innovative, high-performance ISR and aviation systems. Its end-to-end Command, Control, Computers, Communications and Intelligence, Surveillance & Reconnaissance (C4ISR) capabilities encompass design, integration, test, certification, ground/flight training and complete logistics support. IAS tailors solutions to customer cost, performance, and schedule requirements and designs to consistently exceed expectations - with an unrivaled record of on time and on (or under) budget deliveries.
Responsibilities Include:
  • Perform intermediate systems integration tasks with growing proficiency.
  • Conduct requirements analysis and management with minimal supervision.
  • Lead verification and validation (V&V) activities for specific components or subsystems.
  • Manage software and hardware integration tasks independently.
  • Support configuration management and ensure proper documentation.
  • Develop and execute detailed test plans, and solve technical problems independently.
  • Manage Airborne Mission Networking (AbMN) systems integration laboratory (SIL).
  • Maintain and manage SIL schedule and personnel access
  • Hardware and software configuration management
  • Support testing and development of test equipment (e.g harness fabrication)
  • Develop and maintain SIL logistics and operational procedures

Qualifications You Must Have:
  • Bachelor's degree in Systems Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or related field.
  • 2+ years of experience in systems integration or related field.
  • Higher level relevant degree may substitute for experience.
  • Proficiency with integration tools and methodologies.
  • Basic knowledge of engineering principles and practices.
  • Experience working in multidisciplinary design & development teams.
  • Understanding of requirements development and management, system design, systems integration, technical risk identification, management strategies, and V&V principles.
  • The ability to obtain and maintain a Top Secret U.S. Security Clearance is required

Qualifications We Prefer:
  • Experience with Agile methodologies.
  • Knowledge of industry standards and best practices.
  • Experience or certification in International Council on Systems Engineering (INCOSE) standards [Associate Systems Engineering Professional (ASEP)].
  • Background in Aerospace and Defense industry.
  • Ability to apply technical principles, theories, and concepts. Contributes to the development of new principles and concepts.
  • Technical problem solving skills and ability to develop innovative technical solutions.
  • Ability to guide technical designs through development into a final deliverable product.
  • Ability to work successfully in a highly collaborative, fast-paced environment emphasizing rapid prototyping and fielding of capabilities, with minimal supervision.
  • Proven successful experience in project definition, simulation, implementation, lab integration and test.
  • Ability to read schematics, use service manuals, follow test procedures, and use logical trouble shooting techniques.
  • Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to work effectively in a team environment.
  • Background in the Aerospace and Defense Industry, Government, or US Military.

Essential Functions:
  • Ability to work on a computer for extended periods.
  • Hand/finger dexterity for integration tasks.
  • Ability to work in a hybrid environment with occasional travel.

Estimated Starting Salary Range: $82,039.23 - $112,803.95. Compensation varies depending on a wide array of factors, such as candidates' key skills, relevant work experience, and education/training/certifications. The disclosed range estimate may be adjusted for any applicable geographic differential associated with the location at which the position may be filled.
