Job description

Northeast Family Services is seeking an experienced and professional Intake Coordinator to join their growing team ! 
The Intake Coordinator manages all aspects of the registration and admissions process for Northeast Family Services in NH. They are responsible for answering incoming calls, gathering referral information, verifying insurance coverage, and scheduling clients’ appointments. 

This position requires previous experience doing intake in a mental health setting. This position will entail speaking with outpatients directly.

To be successful in the Intake Coordinator position, you need to be highly organized, detail oriented, and have a working knowledge of payer portals, co-pays, deductibles, and health insurance benefits. Top candidates will also have excellent interpersonal skills and work well as part of a multidisciplinary team that includes therapists, clinicians, nurse practitioners and peers.

Qualifications/Requirements: 

  • HS Diploma or equivalent required 
  • Experience working on the administrative side of mental/behavioral health-required 
  • Experience verifying insurance benefits -required 
  • Experience obtaining/processing authorizations -required  
  • Minimum of 2 years' experience in patient intake and scheduling 
  • Proficient computer literacy, including Microsoft Office and Electronic Health Records (EHR) 
  • Experience working with and helping clients with co-occurring disorders 
  • Ability to keep client and company confidences 
  • Excellent communication, customer service, and problem-solving skills, including the ability to maintain composure under stress 
  • Strong time management and organizational skills
