Description

Main Function: The Insurance Verification Specialist will work with the Lead Authorization and the Lead Insurance Verification Specialists in overseeing and facilitating the concerted efforts of the prior authorization and the Insurance verification Work Teams. This employee will assist in working with our Internal/External Physicians patient authorizations and complete the Insurance Verification process with all of the Insurance payers. This position will also complete the insurance verification for all departments with scheduled Services/Procedures to be completed at the Griffin Hospital.

Education: High school graduation or equivalent.

Experience: Strong medical terminology skills are required. At least one year related health care insurance experience required. Must have excellent verbal and written communication skills. Working knowledge and utilization of equipment used. Proficient use of hospital registration and support systems. Excellent customer service skills; professional and courteous behavior to ensure a positive image within the community served and to promote customer satisfaction. Excellent organizational skills to manage multiple tasks in a timely manner. Ability to work as a member of a team.
