Job Title: Insurance Verification Specialist
Job Location: Winchester Oral Surgery Center, Winchester, VA
Job Type: Fulltime
Job Summary:

We pride ourselves on guiding our staff in the right direction to not only learn but also get hands-on training to move forward within the company. The Insurance Verification Specialist is responsible for verifying patient insurance coverage and benefits, obtaining pre-authorizations, and ensuring accurate billing and reimbursement for services provided.
Key Responsibilities:
  • Verify patient insurance coverage and benefits prior to treatment.
  • Obtain pre-authorizations for procedures as required by insurance companies.
  • Ensure accurate billing and reimbursement for services provided.
  • Communicate with patients and insurance companies regarding coverage and payment issues.
  • Maintain accurate and up-to-date records of insurance verification and pre-authorization activities.
  • Collaborate with other members of the healthcare team to ensure optimal patient care and financial outcomes.
Required Qualifications:
  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • Minimum of 2 years of experience in insurance verification and pre-authorization
  • Strong knowledge of insurance plans, benefits, and coverage requirements
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team
  • Strong attention to detail and accuracy
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office and electronic medical records systems
Special Requirements:
  • The Insurance Verification Specialist may be required to sit or stand for extended periods of time, use a computer and telephone, and lift up to 25 pounds.
  • The Insurance Verification Specialist will work in a healthcare setting and may be exposed to infectious diseases, radiation, and other hazards associated with medical procedures.
