Aspirus Health in Wausau, WI is seeking a SENIOR UNDERWRITER to join our ASPIRUS HEALTH PLAN team!
Direct, manage and oversees new business and renewal risk evaluation for Aspirus Health Plan, setting rates appropriate for the underlying risks, while helping to build stronger relationships with prospect, new and existing groups. Underwriting will be completed using a blended, experience-rated methodology for both self-insured and fully insured employers. Stop-loss specific and aggregate pricing for both self-insured large groups. Modify rates to meet company enrollment and profitability objectives. Assist in the training and development of less experienced underwriters and with the development and implementation of department policies, procedures, and processes.
HOURS: Full-Time or 1.0 FTE, 80 hours every 2 weeks.
Experience/Qualifications
  • 4-year degree in Business, Risk Management, Insurance, Mathematics, or related field.
  • 5 years of large group underwriting experience
  • Wisconsin Sales License preferred but not required
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Word and Excel; familiarity with Access database.
  • Must be detail orientated and possess strong organizational and prioritization skills.
  • Excellent interpersonal and communications skills, both verbal and written.
