Summary
We are looking for an experienced Commercial Lines Account Manager to join our team! This role is responsible for providing "client-first" customer service to commercial insurance clients while supporting Producers with new business and renewal opportunities. The ideal candidate is an experienced insurance professional who enjoys building strong client relationships, solving problems, staying organized, and being a trusted resource for clients and our team.
Qualification Requirements

Minimum Qualifications
  • 2 years insurance experience
  • NC Department of Insurance Property & Casualty License OR ability to obtain license within the first 30 days of employment

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
  • Ability to identify coverage needs and confidently discuss insurance solutions with clients.
  • Ability to use personal computer, calculator, agency automation system, and proficiency in various software programs, including but not limited to Microsoft Office (Word, Excel and Outlook) Applied EPIC, etc.
  • Must have excellent communication skills; written and verbal.
  • Must excel at being client focused and able to work independently or in a team-oriented environment.
  • Should have demonstrated effective presentation skills through both verbal and written communication

Supervisory Responsibilities
May have some supervisory responsibilities as the business grows.
Essential Functions
  • Manage and service a designated book of commercial insurance accounts while providing responsive, professional, and client-focused service.
  • Handle inbound client requests, including quotes, policy changes, coverage questions, certificates, and other service needs.
  • Work closely with Producers to support new business and renewal opportunities.
  • Gather information, complete applications, and assist with the preparation and processing of new and renewal business.
  • Review policies, renewals, audits, cancellations, and other account activity to ensure accuracy and timely follow-up.
  • Assist clients with claims, billing questions, loss control matters, and other insurance-related concerns.
  • Communicate regularly with clients, insurance carriers, Producers, and agency staff to resolve issues.
  • Maintain accurate and complete account documentation and follow established agency procedures and service standards.
  • Respond to client requests in a timely manner.
  • Maintain required insurance licensing, continuing education, and professional designations as applicable.
  • Performs other functions as assigned by management

Physical Demands
This is primarily a sedentary role; however, some filing is required, which would require the ability to lift files, open filing cabinets and bend or stand, as necessary.
Work Environment
This job operates in a clerical, office setting. This position routinely uses standard office equipment such as computers, phone, copier, filing cabinets and fax machine.
Travel
Occasional travel may be required.
