Responsible for leading a large inside sales team, driving performance through strategic staffing, coaching, and operational excellence. Ensures dependable service, accurate execution, and transparent collaboration across departments to achieve business objectives.

Major Tasks, Responsibilities and Key Accountabilities

  • Manages a team of 1020+ inside sales associates to achieve performance goals.
  • Owns staffing models and performance management processes to optimize resources.
  • Drives sales initiatives and provides coaching to enhance associate effectiveness.
  • Tracks overrides and special-order pricing to maintain margin governance.
  • Develops associates in new trades, products, and geographies to expand capabilities.
  • Ensures order accuracy, customer satisfaction, and compliance with operational standards.
  • Partners across departments to align strategies and improve operational efficiency.
  • Leverages analytics to monitor performance and guide decision-making.

Nature and Scope

  • Solutions require analysis and investigation.
  • Achieves planned results by decisions and actions based on professional methods, business principles, and practical experience.
  • Manages a group or team of professional individual contributors and/or indirectly supervises support staff.

Work Environment

  • Located in a comfortable indoor area. Any unpleasant conditions would be infrequent and not objectionable.
  • Most of the time is spent sitting in a comfortable position and there is frequent opportunity to move about. On rare occasions there may be a need to move or lift light articles.
  • Typically requires overnight travel less than 10% of the time.

Education and Experience

  • Typically requires BS/BA in a related discipline. Generally 7+ years of experience in a related field. May require certification. Advanced degree may offset less experience in some disciplines.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Demonstrates proven leadership and team development skills for managing large groups.
  • Applies advanced knowledge of sales strategies, pricing governance, and operational controls.
  • Exhibits strong analytical and decision-making abilities to optimize staffing and performance.
