SOC 1 (System and Organization Controls 1) reports are audit reports used to evaluate internal controls over financial reporting, not a job role. Certifications like CPA or CISA can be beneficial for these roles.

What Is an Infrastructure Analyst?

An infrastructure analyst finds and fixes problems within an organization’s computer network. As an infrastructure analyst, your job duties include monitoring and assessing the systems and finding areas that need upgrading or improvement. You also focus on handling system emergencies, such as network communications errors, storage problems, and malfunctioning server platforms, to get the network working again as quickly as possible. Infrastructure analysts may operate as an employee of the company or as a consultant. To become an infrastructure analyst, you need a bachelor’s degree in computer science or a related field and several years of industry experience.

What does an infrastructure analyst do?

An infrastructure analyst is responsible for managing and maintaining an organization’s IT infrastructure, including servers, networks, and hardware. They troubleshoot technical issues, implement system upgrades, and ensure security and performance standards are met, often using tools like monitoring software and following industry best practices.

How much do infrastructure analysts make?

Infrastructure analysts typically earn a median annual salary of around $70,000 to $90,000, depending on experience, location, and certifications such as Cisco or Microsoft. Entry-level positions may start lower, while experienced analysts with specialized skills can earn over $100,000 annually.

What are the key skills and qualifications needed to thrive as an Infrastructure Analyst, and why are they important?

To thrive as an Infrastructure Analyst, you need a solid understanding of network architecture, operating systems, and IT infrastructure management, typically supported by a degree in computer science or a related field. Familiarity with tools such as VMware, Microsoft Azure, Active Directory, and relevant certifications like CompTIA Network+ or Microsoft Certified: Azure Administrator Associate is highly valued. Strong analytical thinking, problem-solving abilities, and effective communication skills help you collaborate with teams and address technical challenges proactively. These skills and qualifications are essential to ensure reliable, secure, and efficient IT operations that support organizational goals.

Will AI replace system analyst?

As an infrastructure analyst, AI is expected to augment rather than replace system analysts. AI tools can automate routine tasks and assist in data analysis, but system analysts' skills in understanding complex systems, requirements gathering, and strategic planning remain essential. Continuous learning and familiarity with emerging technologies are important for job security in this field.

THE WORK:
  • You'll administer and maintain Deltek Vantagepoint configurations - including employee records, organization structures, labor codes, security roles, and user provisioning.
  • You'll own the weekly ADP-Deltek timesheet validation cycle, running validations, escalating exceptions, and producing the Payroll exceptions report on a Monday/Tuesday cadence.
  • You'll support monthly period-end activities including open/close, posting, overhead allocation, and invoice and revenue generation.
  • You'll maintain prevailing wage configurations and support compliance audits tied to prevailing wage obligations.
  • You'll monitor system performance, conduct routine log reviews, and escalate anomalies to senior team members - and manage user access reviews to keep access governance standards on track.
  • You'll support integrations between Deltek Vantagepoint and connected systems (ADP, HR platforms, applicant tracking, payroll) by monitoring data flows, investigating discrepancies, and coordinating resolution with technical owners.
  • You'll assist with onboarding newly acquired entities into the ERP - gathering employee data, validating imports, and ensuring downstream system alignment.
  • You'll participate in active integration programs, including the CASE program (Deltek and ADP), by executing defined tasks, tracking issues, and supporting testing and stabilization.
  • You'll build and maintain a comprehensive Deltek SOP library covering UI procedures, timesheet validation workflows, prevailing wage processes, and period-end procedures - many of which you'll author from scratch.
  • You'll maintain version control and quality standards for all ERP documentation, ensuring SOPs remain current, accurate, and accessible, and contribute to the HappyFox knowledge base by capturing recurring issues and solutions.
  • You'll serve as the first line of Deltek end-user support via HappyFox - triaging, resolving, and escalating tickets - and support end-user training across Time & Expense, CRM, and PM modules, including material development and change management communications.
  • You'll take primary operational responsibility for Inc. company Deltek administration as that entity grows - including employee setup, configuration, routine support, and proactive SOP development - under Financial Systems Manager oversight.
  • The work location for this role will include a mix of working remotely, onsite at a client, or in an Accenture office or center.
HERE'S WHAT YOU'LL NEED:
  • 3+ years of hands-on experience with ERP systems, financial systems, or enterprise business applications such as Deltek VantagePoint
  • 3+ years of experience with Microsoft 365 (Excel, Teams, SharePoint) in a professional environment
BONUS POINTS IF YOU HAVE:

  • Familiarity with prevailing wage compliance requirements and configuration in a project-based ERP
  • Background in a multi-entity, multi-currency, or multi-jurisdiction environment

  • A bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Business, Finance, Data &  Analytics, or a related field - or equivalent experience
  • Experience working in engineering, infrastructure, capital projects, or consulting environments
  • Clear written communication skills; experience drafting process documentation, SOPs, or user-facing instructions is a plus
  • Comfortable working independently on defined tracks while escalating appropriately on ambiguous or high-risk items
  • Demonstrated ability to manage recurring operational processes with accuracy and follow-through - you own what you say you own
  • Strong attention to detail, particularly with data - you catch discrepancies and don't let them pass
