Job Title - Senior Infrastructure Engineer
Department: Managed Infrastructure
Reports to: Director of Managed Infrastructure & Hosting

Description
The Senior Infrastructure Engineer will serve as a senior technical resource responsible for architecting, implementing, troubleshooting, and supporting complex enterprise infrastructure environments, with a strong emphasis on networking, for our managed services and disaster recovery clients.
The ideal candidate will possess advanced expertise in enterprise networking technologies including Cisco, Palo Alto, Fortinet, and Arista, while also maintaining strong hands-on capabilities in VMware, Hyper-V, Nutanix, enterprise storage systems, and hybrid cloud environments such as Microsoft Azure and AWS.
This individual will participate in infrastructure modernization projects, cloud migrations, disaster recovery initiatives, escalated support, architecture reviews, and strategic client engagements. The role requires strong troubleshooting ability, systems thinking, customer-facing communication skills, and the ability to work across multiple infrastructure domains.
Senior Infrastructure Engineer Responsibilities
Enterprise Networking
  • Design, deploy, maintain, and troubleshoot enterprise-grade network environments
  • Support and optimize routing and switching infrastructure
  • Configure and support network and security platforms
  • Manage enterprise WAN, SD-WAN, VPN, VLAN, BGP, OSPF, MPLS, and network segmentation technologies
  • Perform network performance analysis, capacity planning, and high-availability design
  • Support firewall rule management, site-to-site VPNs, and secure remote access architectures
  • Assist with network security hardening and Zero Trust initiatives
Virtualization & Hyperconverged Infrastructure
  • Administer and support VMware vSphere, ESXi, vCenter, SRM, vSAN, and related technologies
  • Support Microsoft Hyper-V environments
  • Deploy and manage Nutanix infrastructure and AHV virtualization platforms
  • Perform infrastructure upgrades, migrations, and optimization activities
  • Support high availability, replication, and disaster recovery solutions
Storage & Data Protection
  • Support SAN and NAS environments across enterprise storage platforms
  • Configure and troubleshoot storage connectivity, replication, snapshots, and backup integrations
  • Participate in backup, recovery, and business continuity initiatives
  • Assist with disaster recovery testing and failover validation exercises
Cloud & Hybrid Infrastructure
  • Design and implement migrations to Microsoft Azure and AWS
  • Support hybrid cloud networking and connectivity architectures
  • Assist with cloud infrastructure modernization initiatives
  • Configure and support Azure and AWS networking, compute, storage, and security services
  • Support infrastructure-as-code and automation initiatives where applicable
MSP & Client Operations
  • Serve as a senior escalation point for complex infrastructure incidents
  • Participate in project delivery, architecture planning, and infrastructure assessments
  • Create and maintain technical documentation, diagrams, runbooks, and operational procedures
  • Participate in on-call rotation and after-hours maintenance windows as required
  • Collaborate with clients, vendors, and internal teams to deliver enterprise-grade solutions
  • Provide technical mentorship to junior engineers and support staff

Experience/Skills Required
  • 5+ years of enterprise networking experience
  • Strong hands-on experience with:
    • Cisco networking platforms
    • Palo Alto firewalls
    • Fortinet/FortiGate solutions
    • Arista switching platforms
  • Advanced VMware administration experience
  • Experience with Hyper-V and Nutanix environments
  • Strong understanding of SAN/NAS storage architectures
  • Experience performing Azure and/or AWS cloud migrations
  • Strong understanding of enterprise disaster recovery concepts and technologies
  • Experience working in MSP, consulting, or multi-client environments
  • Strong troubleshooting and root-cause analysis skills
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Ability to manage multiple concurrent priorities in a fast-paced environment
Experience/Skills Preferred
  • SD-WAN technologies
  • SASE/Zero Trust architectures
