Job description

Storage Platform Engineer
Location: Indianapolis, IN - 3x a week onsite
Duration: 6 months contract to hire 
Position Overview:
The Storage Platform Engineer will support the engineering, development, and strategy of storage computing capabilities across on premise and cloud environments. This role contributes to improving infrastructure reliability, availability, and scalability through modern design patterns, automation, and observability practices.
Responsibilities:
  • Support strategy and engineering for storage platforms across hybrid cloud environments
  • Improve infrastructure availability and reliability through repeatable patterns and architectural enhancements
  • Design and implement scalable storage solutions across enterprise environments
  • Collaborate with global teams to enhance service delivery and operational excellence
  • Provide technical guidance for storage operations and platform optimization
  • Contribute to automation efforts using infrastructure as code and operational tooling
  • Troubleshoot and resolve complex storage related issues at enterprise scale
  • Support backup and recovery strategies and optimization initiatives 
Qualifications:
  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or related technical field
  • Five or more years of experience as a Storage Engineer or Platform Engineer with storage experience
  • Proven experience supporting large scale infrastructure initiatives
  • Strong analytical, problem solving, and communication skills
  • Experience working in team based and agile delivery environments
Tools and Technologies:
  • Enterprise storage platforms including SAN and NAS technologies
  • Linux environments and cloud infrastructure platforms
  • Backup solutions such as Data Domain, PPDM, or Avamar
  • Configuration and automation tools such as Git, Jenkins, Ansible, or Puppet
  • Scripting experience in Bash, Python, or similar languages
