Job description

Job Title: Software Asset & Migration Consultant
Role Overview
We are seeking a Software Asset & Migration Consultant to lead the validation and migration of enterprise software portfolios. You will act as the bridge between software owners and technical deployment teams, ensuring that every application is correctly identified, licensed, and integrated into our service catalog.
This is a project-focused role for a consultant who excels at the "data side" of IT. You will be responsible for the end-to-end lifecycle-from data cleansing and requirement gathering to configuring workflows and testing deployment pipelines. If you are an organized problem-solver who enjoys working with large datasets and managing complex migration projects, this role offers the perfect blend of technical analysis and stakeholder coordination.
Key Responsibilities
Data Governance & Asset Lifecycle
• Portfolio Validation: Collect and validate critical data points including licensing, entitlements, ownership, and contract terms. Engage with application owners to gather and reconcile complex software data.
• Data Integrity: Perform rigorous data cleansing and validation activities. Maintain the integrity of software records across our systems of record, ensuring all information is accurate and audit-ready.
• Catalog Management: Configure and maintain software catalog records, including workflows, licensing logic, approval hierarchies, and automated deployment triggers.
Migration & Project Coordination
• Workflow Execution: Partner with IT engineering teams to ensure software is packaged and deployed according to catalog specifications. Test and document workflow results to ensure seamless user experiences.
• Consultative Support: Document business requirements, map workflows, and translate technical needs into actionable project tasks.
• Progress Reporting: Track outstanding requests and manage project milestones. Build dashboards and status reports that clearly communicate migration health and risk to stakeholders.
Qualifications & Requirements
Minimum Qualifications
• Experience Baseline: 2-5+ years of experience in Software Asset Management (SAM), IT Asset Management (ITAM), or enterprise software licensing.
• Technical Mastery: Hands-on experience with ITSM platforms, workflow configuration, and form design.
• Data Proficiency: Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel (data analysis, reconciliation, and validation) and reporting tools.
• Communication: Ability to work independently to manage multiple project streams and communicate technical requirements to diverse stakeholder groups.
Preferred Attributes
• Experience managing software catalog migrations or large-scale enterprise application onboarding.
• Proficiency in building dashboards and visual reports (Power BI or similar).
• Knowledge of software compliance, entitlement management, and the complexities of enterprise-level software deployment.
