The Level 1 IT Associate is an entry-level professional who supports various IT functions, including IT Service Desk operations, Audio-Visual projects and events, Telecommunications installations and repairs, and computer hardware support. They are developing their knowledge and skills in these areas and demonstrate a willingness to learn and grow in their role. The Level 1 IT Associate provides basic technical assistance to end-users, troubleshoots and resolves routine IT incidents, and assists in IT projects under supervision. They work collaboratively with team members to deliver timely and effective customer support and contribute to the efficient functioning of IT operations. The Level 1 IT Associate actively seeks opportunities to expand their knowledge and gain hands-on experience to enhance their performance and contribute to the overall success of the IT team.


Responsibilities

  • Assist in IT Service Desk operations, logging and routing user inquiries and basic technical issues.
  • Support Audio-Visual projects and events, assisting with setup and basic troubleshooting.
  • Support Telecommunications installations and repairs, following instructions and guidelines.
  • Assist with computer hardware support, troubleshooting basic hardware problems.
  • Collaborate with team members to ensure smooth IT operations and timely incident resolution.
  • Stay informed about foundational IT concepts and best practices.
  • Provide customer service, responding to end-user inquiries in a friendly and professional manner.
  • Assist in basic IT projects and initiatives, following instructions and guidelines.
  • Document IT incidents and solutions accurately and concisely.
  • Seek opportunities for learning and skill development in IT support.
  • Other duties as assigned

Qualifications
  • Minimum Qualifications:
    • Education/Certifications: One year related experience may be substituted for one year of education, if degree is required.
    • College Degree or equivalent experience
    • CompTIA A+ or equivalent certification
    • DOD Information Assurance Awareness Training
    • Cross Domain Violation Training
  • Experience:
    • 2+ years related experience.
    • Previous experience in a customer service position and automated processing data information input skills.
    • Prior experience with the US Military or in a Government Contracting environment is desired.
    • Maximo work order system experience preferred.
  • Skills
    • Capable of effectively communicating technical information in English, both written and verbal.
    • Possess Advanced PC technical support skills
    • Time management and organizational skills
    • Must be proficient using the latest version of Microsoft Office
    • Experience using Maximo work order system or similar system
  • Working Conditions:
    • Must be capable of working in an extreme weather conditions with temperatures exceeding 90 degrees Fahrenheit.
    • The worker may be required to spend extended time in a computer room environment.
  • Physical Requirements:
    • Light work. Exerting up to 20 pounds of force occasionally, and/or up to 10 pounds of force frequently, and/or a negligible amount of force constantly to move objects. If the use of arm and/or leg controls requires exertion of forces greater than that for sedentary work and the worker sits most of the time, the job is rated for light work.
    • Work may require heavy lifting, stooping, climbing, prolonged standing, prolonged sitting, and working with or in areas where a potential could exist for exposure to physical, chemical, or biological agents.
    • Employee use of personal protective equipment (PPE) is required for some situations. PPE includes, but is not limited to, head, foot, torso, respiratory, vision, and hearing protective devices.
