Job Summary:
University Housing is now hiring! We are looking for a professional interested in working in a student services role which requires software and data management skills.
The successful candidate will demonstrate end-user ability to use a complex database (StarRez) to serve our students and staff.
The Assignment System Coordinator advises students and their families in preparation for their residential experience at the University by directing activities related to contracting and assignment and meeting Division occupancy goals including learning and theme communities.
Work Schedule:
  • The primary schedule for this position is Monday through Friday, 7:45am - 4:30pm, including occasional evening responsibilities based on operational need.
  • Work schedule will be set with selected finalist(s) at time of offer. Schedule alterations as operations and position expectations demand.

Key Job Responsibilities:
  • Leads divisional outreach efforts with prospective students and families, including the housing tour program
  • Analyzes data for housing assignments and develops solutions for student issues
  • Plans, directs, and implements housing initiatives and manages occupancy for all university terms
  • Collaborates with campus groups and/or departments and maintains successful campus partnerships, while representing the interests of the division
  • Advises internal and external stakeholders about housing units, contracts, and options
  • May supervise student employees
  • Assists in management of the day-to-day operations in the Housing information System including inquiries, data verification, report writings, and process management.
  • Strategizes, advises, and resolves complicated and sensitive housing-related issues, policy questions, requests, and appeals, including matters related to student resident disabilities and gender identity
  • Drafts, implements, and maintains annual contracts and memos with a variety of campus programs and academic departments

Division of University Housing, Residential Operations
University Housing Residential Operations provides residential accommodations, programs, and services to actively support the mission of the University; meet the needs of students, families, staff, and guests; and foster the development of residential communities. Residential Operations includes Marketing and Communications, Events and Conferences, Desk Services, and Residence Hall Assignments. University Housing houses over 8,000 students in Residence Halls across campus and 3,000 residents in University Apartments.
Compensation:
The starting annual salary is $60,000 or higher based on qualifications with a competitive retirement and benefits package, including vacation, holidays, and paid time off. Benefits information can be found at https://hr.wisc.edu/benefits/
Required Qualifications:
  • Two (2) years of prior experience working in a database management system

Preferred Qualifications:
  • Two (2) years of prior experience in Student Housing / Residence Life
  • Administrative experience with a Housing Information System (e.g. StarRez)

Education:
Bachelor's degree or equivalent combination of training and experience required. Additional consideration given to degrees in a technology-related field.
Masters's degree preferred. Additional consideration given to degrees in a higher education or technology-related field.
