Description:

This on-site position is located in Wilmington, Delaware. The Catholic Diocese of Wilmington is seeking a temporary part-time Human Resources Generalist who will assist in the administration of the employee lifecycle including (but not limited to) full-service recruiting, onboarding, performance management, offboarding, and separation. The ideal candidate will be proactive, detail-oriented, and capable of managing multiple HR functions efficiently while maintaining adaptability.


This is a temporary part-time position with an expected term of approximately four months. The schedule for this position is Tuesday through Thursday, 8:30 am - 4:30 pm. 


Essential Functions:

  • Assist in the recruiting process by posting jobs, sourcing candidates, screening applications, pre-selecting candidates, coordinating interviews with candidates/hiring managers and disseminating interview materials. 
  • Support the onboarding process by communicating with candidates throughout the pre-employment phase to ensure adherence to all pre-employment screening requirements (e.g. reference check, background check, medical evaluation, drug-screening).
  • Maintain job descriptions and update recruiting files. 
  • Update and maintain employee records in HRIS and other systems to ensure accuracy; assist with record retention tasks. 
  • Support performance management processes.
  • Ensure compliance with applicable employment laws and HR policies and procedures.
  • Attend employee events (e.g. Employee Appreciation).
  • Perform administrative tasks related to other HR functions as needed.
Requirements:

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Associate's degree in Human Resources or related field and three years' experience in full-cycle recruiting; or an equivalent combination of education and work experience. 
  • Strong computer skills including Microsoft Office/365 and email applications. 
  • Demonstrated proficiency in Human Resources Information Systems (HRIS) and Applicant Tracking Systems (ATS). 
  • Strong communications skills with the ability to speak and write effectively and professionally.
  • Excellent organization skills, analytical skills, multi-tasking skills, problem-solving skills, accuracy and attention to detail.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Ability to address conflicting points of view and demonstrate discretion, tact, diplomacy, and integrity.
  • Strong time management skills with the flexibility to adapt to changing priorities.
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality.
  • Ability to build trust and rapport with individuals from diverse cultural, socio-economic, and ethnic backgrounds.
  • Willingness to consent to a satisfactory criminal background check and drug screening in accordance with applicable laws.
  • Commitment to the mission and values of the Catholic Diocese of Wilmington.
