Role Summary

As partofBlackwellHR’s Projectteam,theHR Consultantis anexperiencedHR professionalengagedtoexecuteclient-facingHRprojectengagementson a contract (1099) basis.The idealHR Consultant is a self-directed HR professional who can manage assigned deliverables independently, communicate effectively withclients and internal colleagues, meet agreed-upon deadlines,and deliver practical, legally informed, and business-aligned HR recommendations.


Responsibilities

  • Develop, review, and revise HR policies, employee handbooks, procedures, forms, communications, and compliance-related materials.

  • Support employment law and HR compliance projects, including ADA, FMLA, wage and hour, employee classifications, workplace conduct, and related HR policy matters.

  • Conduct HR assessments, job description audits, employment classification reviews, compensation benchmarking, pay equityanalyses, and other HR due diligence projects.

  • Perform external workplace investigations, including document review, interviews, analysis, findings, and report drafting, as assigned.

  • Design, develop, and deliver HR training, webinars, manager toolkits, employee development materials, and related learning resources.

  • CreateHR process documentation, including performance management workflows, onboarding tools, employee communication templates, and implementation guides.

  • Participate in client meetings, calls, and presentations as needed to support assigneddeliverables andmaintaineffective client communication.

  • Prepare clear, professional deliverables, reports, recommendations, and status updates forBlackwelland client review.

  • Maintain confidentiality and professionalism in allclient,Blackwell, and project-related communications and materials.

  • Previousexperience in oneor moreof the following areaspreferred: organizational development, leadership development, mergers and acquisitions, coaching, workforce planning, succession planning, development of mission, vision and values, employer branding, culture,orbehavior-based workplace initiatives.

  • Ability to take on the tactical as well as strategic components of the HR function.

  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, exceptional presentation skills.

  • Ability to communicate at all levels ofanorganization, including C-Suite and VPlevels, with confidence and poise.

  • Ability to provide strategic counsel and guidance to clients.

  • Ability to work independently and in a team environment.

  • Strong business acumen and ability to make sound decisions grounded in business needs and goals.

  • Ability tomaintainreasonable availability during standard business hours to coordinate with clients and project team members as needed.
