What is an independent contractor pediatrician?

An Independent Contractor Pediatrician is a licensed medical professional who provides pediatric care on a contract basis rather than as a direct employee of a hospital, clinic, or medical practice. They typically work with multiple healthcare facilities or run their own practice, offering services such as routine check-ups, vaccinations, and treatment of illnesses in children. As independent contractors, they are responsible for managing their own taxes, benefits, and scheduling. This role offers flexibility and autonomy but requires strong business and administrative skills to handle contracts and expenses effectively.

What are the typical daily responsibilities of an independent contractor pediatrician?

As an Independent Contractor Pediatrician, your daily responsibilities usually include diagnosing and treating childhood illnesses, conducting routine wellness exams, administering vaccinations, and advising families on preventive health. You will often manage your own schedule, collaborate with clinics or practice groups as needed, and handle necessary documentation and billing tasks independently. This role requires strong organizational skills and adaptability, as you may work across multiple locations or healthcare facilities. Flexibility and initiative are important, since you operate without direct supervision and must maintain professional relationships with a variety of healthcare teams.

What are the key skills and qualifications needed to thrive as an independent contractor pediatrician?

To thrive as an Independent Contractor Pediatrician, you need a medical degree with board certification in pediatrics and a solid background in child healthcare management. Familiarity with electronic health record systems, telemedicine platforms, and state-specific licensure requirements is essential. Excellent communication, problem-solving, and time management skills help you build trust with families and operate autonomously. These abilities are crucial for delivering high-quality care while efficiently managing the unique requirements and logistics of independent practice.

Job description

Chiropractor Independent Contractor-Pediatric + Family Practice job at Grassroots Health And Wellness. Franklin, TN.

Job Description

Job Description

Independent Contractor Chiropractor โ€” Pediatric + Family Practice (Franklin, TN)

Warm, collaborative environment. High standards. Strong earning potential.

Grassroots Health & Wellness is a well-established pediatric and family chiropractic practice in Franklin/Cool Springs. We provide a calm, organized, and highly supportive environment for both patients and practitioners โ€” and we are looking for an Independent Contractor Chiropractor who aligns with our standards of care.

This is a percentage-based position. You earn based on the care you provide, while the practice handles the overhead. Itโ€™s ideal for a doctor who wants autonomy and a strong, consistent patient flow without the burden of running their own clinic.

What We Provide

You focus on patient care.

We provide the infrastructure:

  • Fully-equipped treatment rooms
  • All chiropractic equipment and supplies
  • EHR system
  • Front desk and administrative support
  • Internal marketing and steady referrals
  • A highly collaborative team environment
  • Shared care opportunities with other skilled doctors

If you value clinical excellence and teamwork, you will fit in well here.

About Grassroots Health & Wellness

Grassroots is known for:

  • Pediatric and prenatal chiropractic care
  • Cranial, airway, and nervous-system-focused work
  • A warm, family-centered culture
  • A calm, grounding office atmosphere
  • Clear communication and strong patient relationships
  • Collaboration with neighboring practitioners (myofunctional therapy, acupuncture, holistic providers)

We set a high standard for the experience we provide to families โ€” and anyone joining our team must reflect that.

Who Weโ€™re Looking For

We want a doctor who is:

  • Skilled or actively training in pediatric and prenatal care
  • Collaborative, kind, and professional
  • Confident in communication and follow-through
  • Comfortable working in a shared-care model
  • Motivated to grow their patient base within a supportive structure
  • Energetically aligned with a calm, family-focused, wellness-driven office

If you thrive in a team environment and value community-centered care, you will fit beautifully here.

If you require constant oversight, are inconsistent, or struggle with professional boundaries, this will not be the right match.

Compensation

Percentage-based Independent Contractor model.

You retain a portion of all services you provide.

The practice covers the rest โ€” staffing, systems, equipment, marketing, and operational expenses.
