About the Opportunity

As an Allied Health Assistant - Physiotherapy, you will play an important role in supporting the delivery of high-quality physiotherapy care to patients and clients across Central Coast Local Health District, working under the supervision of a qualified Allied Health Professional.

In this role you will:

• Assist with direct patient care, including routine evaluations, preparing patients for treatment and providing information about physiotherapy services.
• Support the delivery of prescribed therapeutic activities and exercise programs, working within your scope of practice and following guidance from the supervising Physiotherapist.
• Observe and report relevant patient information to the supervising Allied Health Professional and broader multidisciplinary team to support assessment, treatment and care planning.
• Provide administrative and operational support to the physiotherapy team, including maintaining records, managing resources and assisting with day-to-day tasks.
• Work collaboratively with patients, families, carers and health professionals to support positive patient experiences and contribute to the delivery of safe, person-centred care.

About You

We are looking for a motivated and compassionate Allied Health Assistant who is committed to supporting patients and working collaboratively with Physiotherapists and the broader multidisciplinary team.

We are looking for someone who has:

• A Certificate IV in Allied Health Assistance or a relevant qualification, or a willingness to undertake the required training. Physiotherapy undergraduate students who have completed their first year are also encouraged to apply.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to communicate effectively with patients, families, carers and health professionals.
• The ability to work both independently and collaboratively within a multidisciplinary team, while seeking guidance when required.
• Strong organisational and time management skills, with the ability to prioritise tasks, meet deadlines and work within scope of practice.
• Previous experience working in a health environment and a genuine commitment to providing safe, respectful and person-centred care.
