Production Support Design Engineer
Waukesha, WI - Full Time
Productive Resources (www.productiveresources.com) is seeking a candidate to be part of our engineering team at our customer's facility in Waukesha, WI. As a member of our team, the selected candidate will support new engine programs with a focus on design, CAD model & drawing creation to get the first prototype engine built for testing.
This is a full-time position that is indefinite in duration with the opportunity of professional growth, and additional opportunities within our organization.
Duties:
  • Support new engine development programs from concept through prototype build, ensuring designs meet performance, cost, and manufacturability targets.
  • Create, modify, and maintain 3D CAD models and detailed engineering drawings using Creo.
  • Develop and release components and assemblies within Windchill PLM, ensuring proper documentation and revision control.
  • Collaborate cross-functionally with manufacturing, test, and supply chain teams to support prototype engine builds and resolve design-related issues.
  • Apply GD&T principles to ensure proper fit, function, and interchangeability of engine components.
  • Participate in design reviews and incorporate feedback to improve product quality and reliability.
  • Troubleshoot and resolve design issues discovered during prototype assembly and testing phases.
  • Support engineering change processes, including creating and implementing Engineering Change Notices (ECNs).
  • Ensure designs comply with applicable standards, specifications, and customer requirements.
  • Assist in root cause analysis and continuous improvement efforts related to design and production challenges.
  • Maintain clear and effective communication with internal teams and stakeholders to ensure project alignment and timely delivery.

Requirements:
  • Bachelors degree in engineering OR 5+ years on engines for industrial applications.
  • PTC's Creo CAD.
  • Windchill PLM.
  • Good GD&T (Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing).
  • Good communication.
  • Good Team player.

Preferred:
  • Engine experience that operates on natural gas, biogas, landfill gas, or special gases like syngas, for industrial applications.
