This role will work a hybrid schedule coming into the Columbus, Ohio, Des Moines, Iowa, or Scottsdale, Arizona office 2 days (Mondays & Wednesdays) per week. Remote internal associates may also be considered.

This role requires expertise in Databricks, Power BI, and requirements elicitation. The ideal candidate will demonstrate strong communication skills, the ability to drive impactful change, and a proven track record of building strong relationships with customers and executive sponsors. Candidates should be able to provide examples of successful partnerships with executive stakeholders.

This person must be capable of delivering executive-level dashboards with minimal oversight and within a short timeframe. The role also includes serving as the product owner for existing data products. Experience in data storytelling and UX is preferred.

As a Data Solution Analyst, you'll translate functional data and analytic requirements into solutions for consumption and use by the respective business or technology request or leveraging a variety of approved technologies. The technologies include (but are not limited to) Paxata, Tableau, Micro strategy, Business Objects, R, or other reporting and visualization solutions being considered for operationalization. You'll also have the opportunity to guide others to leverage self-service techniques for business reporting and analytics.

Job Description

Key Responsibilities:

  • Elicits reporting and analytic requirements from business and technology requestors to generate visualization or analysis.

  • Supports implementation of data requirements and practices for an assigned area.

  • Applies secure software and systems engineering practices throughout the delivery lifecycle to ensure our data and technology solutions are protected from threats and vulnerabilities.

  • Under supervision creates and executes standard visualization techniques.

  • Uses visualization and analysis techniques to present findings of data exploration exercises to stakeholders based on requirements gleaned.

  • Maps the flow of data and the business processes and/or technical interfaces which would be created or impacted and recommends solutions/adaptations.

  • Collaborates with others to implement standardized data reporting, analytics, and visualization tools.

  • Works on profiling, mapping, and modeling tools.

  • With guidance may partner with others on projects requiring data visualization.

May perform other responsibilities as assigned.

Reporting Relationships: Reports to Manager/Director Data Leader.

Typical Skills and Experiences:

Education: Undergraduate studies in computer science, management information systems, business, statistics, math, a related field or comparable experience and education strongly preferred. Graduate studies in business, statistics, math, computer science or a related field are a plus.

License/Certification/Designation: Certifications are not required but encouraged.

Experience: Two to five years of relevant experience with data management/ organization/ analytics or practices. Experience in with data visualization tools, reporting and self-service analytic techniques. Experience in application of data acquisition and data wrangling. Insurance/financial services industry knowledge a plus.

Knowledge, Abilities and Skills: Data application and practices knowledge. Good oral and written communication skills.

Other criteria, including leadership skills, competencies and experiences may take precedence.

Staffing exceptions to the above must be approved by the hiring manager's leader and HR Business Partner.
