Job description

Garfinkel Immigration Law Firm is currently seeking an entry level Paralegal to join our firm. Paralegals are highly valued professionals on the legal team, performing specifically delegated meaningful and substantive legal work for which the lawyer is responsible. This work may include document preparation, drafting supporting letters and client communications, conducting legal research and assembling cases for filing. Client contact varies depending on the specific team or area of business immigration law the Paralegal supports. Paralegal experience is also an excellent introduction to and preparation for a future career as an attorney. This position will work in our office in Charlotte and is eligible for a hybrid work schedule after successful completion of the initial training period, with the option to work up to 2-3 days/week remotely.

Responsibilities:

Prepare documents and assemble cases for review and filing, ensuring accuracy, completeness and timeliness. Draft supporting letters and client correspondence. Conduct legal research and assemble cases for filing. Manage a high volume of cases. Participate in legal and firm meetings, including client consultations. Develop and maintain trusting and professional relationships with clients.

Requirements:

  • 0-2 years paralegal or related experience
  • Bachelor's degree preferred, or equivalent combination of education and experience
  • Proactive, self-motivated problem-solver with a genuine interest in business immigration law
  • Previous experience or internships in the legal field are a plus
  • Well-organized and consistently meets established deadlines
  • Excellent research, analytical, written, and oral communication skills
  • Strong interpersonal skills and ability to work easily with a wide variety of individuals
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications
  • Bi-lingual is a plus
