Job description

Role Type: HR Contractor

Location: Redwood City, CA

Schedule: Mondayโ€“Friday, 8 hours per day

Work Model: Hybrid (3 days onsite; may be more flexible over time)

Purpose of the Role

We are seeking an HR Contractor to support core HR operations with a strong emphasis on payroll, immigration coordination, and HR compliance. This person will help offload administrative responsibilities from the Talent Acquisition team and ensure smooth execution of employee lifecycle processes.


Key Responsibilities

Payroll Support

  • Prepare, process, review, and approve payroll (LHMP system)
  • Manage payroll changes, new hires, and onboarding setup
  • Partner with accounting/finance; understand payroll accounting fundamentals

Immigration Support (Intermediate Level)

  • Coordinate with immigration attorneys
  • Prepare and manage forms and documentation
  • Understand visa types, timelines, and basic compliance requirements
  • Manage wet signatures and inโ€‘office documentation
  • Support visa-related employee questions (nonโ€‘expert level)

HR Operations & Compliance

  • Handle employee inquiries
  • Support HR compliance requirements
  • Assist with PR/PO processes within internal systems
  • May assist with newโ€‘hire swag kits (assembling and distributing)


Required Experience

Payroll experience is required

  • Immigration experience at an intermediate level (not an expert)
  • Strong attention to detail and ability to manage administrative workflows
  • Comfortable working with internal stakeholders and external legal partners
