Occupational Therapist
Assignment Duration

This is a 13-week contract position.

Schedule

Day shift, 5x8.0 hours.

Job Description

The Occupational Therapist plans, organizes, develops, administers, directs, and supervises OT treatment in accordance with current applicable federal, state, and local standards, regulations, and guidelines. Embracing the core values of the organization, the therapist is committed to delivering superior quality care and ensuring a safe environment for both patients and employees.

Responsibilities

  • Assesses patient’s level of functioning upon physician orders and implements appropriate treatment based on assessment findings.
  • Participates in the interdisciplinary team process and discharge planning for each patient.
  • Completes required documentation according to departmental policies and procedures.
  • Supervises Certified Occupational Therapy Assistants and students, supporting staff training and orientation.
  • Acts with a customer service mindset towards patients and colleagues at all times.
  • Evaluates patients efficiently and effectively, bases treatment plans on evaluation results and patient/family goals.
  • Collaborates with team members to provide optimal patient care and maintain safety standards.
  • Documents training and use of equipment with patients and families during discharge planning.

Required Experience / Certifications / Licensure

  • Must hold a valid, current State license.
  • Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required.
  • Minimum of 2 years of experience in occupational therapy preferred.
