About the Team The Global Corporate Services Legal Team is a dedicated global vertical within TikTok's "Global Legal BP" organization. Corporate Services Legal is primarily responsible for covering TikTok's "Corporate Services" department functions, which include Employee Mobility Services, Visa Services, and Procurement. Corporate Services Legal provides legal support on a global scale for TikTok's corporate functions, workplace strategy, office leasing & design, employee health and security, integrated facilities, admin support, purchasing requests, and procurement-led buying. Corporate Services Legal also partners with HR and Employment Legal to provide dedicated support to TikTok's robust Visa Services and Employee Mobility Services functions. This is a highly collaborative, on-site role and requires five days per week in the office. About the Role: As part of this cross-functional collaboration with HR and Employment Legal, Corporate Services Legal is seeking an experienced Immigration Attorney to serve as a critical legal resource across TikTok's U.S. immigration programs. This attorney will advise cross-functional stakeholders on compliance requirements, manage external counsel, coordinate across multiple legal specialties, and translate legal advice into operational processes with measurable outcomes. The ideal candidate is expected to be a skilled legal advisor with a business-savvy mindset who understands the company's overarching goals and can align immigration strategy accordingly. This role reports directly to the Lead, Global Corporate Services Legal, with a dotted-line report to the Global Employment Legal Initiatives team. Responsibilities: - Immigration Compliance & Risk Strategy. Partner with internal immigration teams and legal stakeholders to provide strategic guidance on U.S. immigration compliance, workforce planning, and risk mitigation. - External Counsel Oversight. Review and validate advice from external immigration counsel against the company's business interests and compliance posture. - Audit & Site Visit Preparedness. Lead preparation and response strategies for USCIS site visits, FDNS audits, and government investigations. - Cross-Functional Risk Coordination. Coordinate with Tax, Export Control, Information Security, and other cross-functional partners to ensure holistic risk assessment for immigration-related matters. - Regulatory Monitoring & Advisory. Monitor and interpret changes in U.S. immigration law, policy, and enforcement trends; advise Legal and cross-functional stakeholders on regulatory changes affecting nonimmigrant and immigrant visa programs. - Operational Process Design. Lead cross-functional initiatives to enhance immigration program operations, including new tools, templates, process maps, SOPs, and internal training. - Large-Scale Program Support. Advise on immigration strategy for large-scale workforce transitions, entity restructuring, and high-volume visa programs, including H-1B lottery strategy and entity transfer projects involving significant employee populations. - Complex Case Advisory. Support teams in addressing complex and arising immigration cases that require escalation beyond routine processing.
Qualifications
Minimum Qualifications: - Bachelor's degree plus a Juris Doctorate (or equivalent) from an ABA-accredited law school or international accredited school of law - Experience practicing law at a top-tier law firm and/or in-house - An extensive amount of years of U.S. employment-based immigration experience, including non-immigrant visas (H-1B, L-1, TN, etc.), green card petitions (I-140, EB-1, PERM, etc.), and related programs - Experience with immigration compliance audits, site visits, or government investigations - Experience advising on large-scale immigration programs or corporate restructuring involving workforce mobility - Outstanding analytical, communication, organizational, negotiation, and drafting skills Preferred Qualifications: - Demonstrated experience advising on corporate immigration policies at scale, including H-1B lottery strategy and entity restructuring - Experience coordinating cross-functional legal risk assessments in the immigration context - Proven track record of translating legal requirements into operational compliance processes with measurable outcomes and end-to-end accountability - Experience managing external counsel and validating external legal advice for completeness and business applicability - Knowledge of student visa compliance, including F-1, OPT, STEM OPT, I-20/I-983, SEVIS reporting, and coordination with DSOs

[For Pay Transparency]Compensation Description (Annually)
The base salary range for this position in the selected city is $134400 - $313200 annually.
Compensation may vary outside of this range depending on a number of factors, including a candidate's qualifications, skills, competencies and experience, and location. Base pay is one part of the Total Package that is provided to compensate and recognize employees for their work, and this role may be eligible for additional discretionary bonuses/incentives, and restricted stock units.
Benefits may vary depending on the nature of employment and the country work location. Employees have day one access to medical, dental, and vision insurance, a 401(k) savings plan with company match, paid parental leave, short-term and long-term disability coverage, life insurance, wellbeing benefits, among others. Employees also receive 10 paid holidays per year, 10 paid sick days per year and 17 days of Paid Personal Time (prorated upon hire with increasing accruals by tenure).
